Are all the GMC hinge posts the same?

Last spring I did something stupid and I think this was the result.









My questions is before I try to have another of these built, is this something hanging around on later model GMs?   It is the upper hinge pivot post.

What is this hinge post for the main entrance door?
2299273 is not listed in the PD4104 parts book.
This might be from another style GM Coach.(Fish bowl)?

I hadn't looked it up yet...but if it's not in the book maybe that's why it broke (other than my reefing on the door to get it past an ice jam)
Anyhow it's the upper hinge post for the front door on my 4104.  looks like the bottom cracked awhile ago (rust stains) and the top only separated recently.   There are needle bearings on the receiving cup which is part of the door hinge /closing arrangement, the part is tucked up inside the body around where the bolts for the R side mirror are.

That hinge post bracket should be the same on at least the 4106s and Scenics, probably all the buffalos, too.

GM basically used the same door throughout the production run of the highway models.

GMC part number 2311781 Hinge upper door half is the part number for the PD4104 and the P8M4905A
So you can get a hinge from any GM PD series coach from 4104 through a P8M4905A

For the "Hinge front door upper body half incl. pin." I show 2300076 up to chassis 809.  2312118 from chassis 810 on.
For the door side it has 2299264 up to chassis 809. Roadrunnertex has the rest...Cable

I was going to thank roadrunner tex then Cable got involved now I'm  confused.   None of the numbers you guys are using correspond to the part # on the piece, is that usual?  I have a new source for building stuff, so I guess it's time to see how good they are.

The "part number" on the piece is actually the GM casting number used to identify the mold.

Numbers from DA BOOK is what you want.

Sorry for any confusion I've caused. I'm reading from the parts book that Peerless Stage Lines used for my coach. My coach is #449 so the part # they checked is 2300076. Since these things are over 50 years old I would have to assume a lot of the parts have been changed in the name of availability. I would think if you called Luke with all these numbers he could find something to fit and even get a good laugh at me (like my wife does) for keeping these old books. I hope I haven't caused more consternation...Cable

Please note that 4104s don't all use the same parts. My '54 (PD4104-1274) seems to be an "early model" and I've had problems with rear hub bolts and air bag bolts being too short. Later models must have used thinner parts in these two cases. Obviously yours is much earlier than mine.

Now I remind my parts guy when I order parts, the air bag mixup cause me a weeks delay on my last trip.

A lot of these old parts books are not up to date on part # changes but, in our cases, that probably doesn't matter.
