So, I am off in Europe but needing to order another plastic tank for my bus.  I noticed that the height of the cargo bay (underneath the center channel) was about 33.5".

But now that 'about' is starting to be important, because I'm looking at a tank that is 33.25" tall.  Probably too tight a fit, but I think I can get away with it if I mount it directly on the cargo floor and only put fittings for the top on one side (so I can slide it in).

But that 33.5" was an approximation, and now I need to know the actual height.

Can anyone with a 102A3 (mine's an '86, but I don't think that matters) measure the maximum height a flat box could be to fit in the cargo bay?  (i.e., it would have to be from the top ridges in the floor, not the bottom, and then up to the lowest point in the center channel (the middle))...

Any help?

I can't help with the measurement but I think a 1/4" difference would not be unexpected between two buses.  They are just not that precise.

Dave,

I have a 1986 102A3. I just measured the back bay and from the bottom the tunnel sheet metal to the top of the rib on the floor is 25".

I am installing the holding tanks in my bus and I found a couple of tanks that were 23" tall.

Hope this helps!

The best you going to get is in the last bay, 24" is about as tall as you can go. 23" tank height would be much safer.
I have 24" tanks and they will go in and out. Barely.
