I was wondering if anyone here has ever had any dealings with Goodson Bus Sales near Hickory NC or MCI Bus Sales in Roanoke? I'm in the market for a reasonably priced bus and both of the places are within a few hours drive of me. I've seen a few of their buses on their websites and thought about driving up to check them out. I've heard enough to stay away from the Bus Dealer in Bassett Va. Thanks for any info you might can help me out with.

Actually I went to Maiden and was taken through most of the buses there. He seems to be a nice guy and prices were not bad. Probably could be a little lower for what he has but he does have some with great potential. Did not seem to be very rusty. As far as Easter goes I have visited with them on three occasions and was treated well. Junior drove me about thirty miles to another site to look at buses they had there also.  I think that with a good mechanic to inspect before making offer you can get good deal at Easters also. The Busman also keeps his buses at the yard in Maiden. Not all of them but some.

I have delt with Frankie for several years. A-1 in my book. May be a little high but he will tell you straight up about anything he sells, and will stand behind it!! Don't know about the others, never delt with them. Bought my bus from Talmadge Lewis. He was very honest to deal with for me. Best in the buisness for parts if Jejj Jefferson. Honest and has everything!!

I have seen some really nice mid 80's on ebay if you can get them to sell them for the right price....they were listed on ebay for more then they are going to bring but they were nice clean buses.  I think they both may have been in Florida.

They were 102's....if you want a 9, those are far cheaper.

I have known and worked with Franky Goodson at Goodson Bus Sales for over twenty years now. I highly recommend him to everyone. Franky is, like Eric said, as honest and straight up as they come and stands behind what ever he sells you. There are very few people and places I recommend. Goodson Bus Sales is at the top of my list for being a class act.

I've also seen some pretty decent buses on Ebay too but seems like most all of them are 10 or so hours away with "Recent Rebuilds" and "Reserve Not Met". The famous "Recent Rebuild" sorta scares me too since I have yet to find one with any kind of documentation or even halfway proof. I'm not expecting nor requiring a recent rebuild but if a person will mislead you on that to sell their bus, what other parts of the bus will they mislead you on too?. The 10 hours away doesn't bother me but I'm not one that would bid several thousand dollars on something without checking it out first. It could get pretty expensive though driving to Orlando tomorrow to see an ebay bus and then to Nashville on Wed to see another one and then take the chance that I wouldn't meet reserve or be out bidded if one of those did check out okay. Sometimes they have a "buy it now" price but that is usually on the high side. As you can tell, I'm not a huge fan of buying on Ebay. I would much rather know the asking price..check it out..and either buy it, make a counter offer, or walk away.

I have known Frankie for over 25 years and never heard anyone say anything bad about him.  He used to be the manager of the repair shop for Sun Tours.  He is part of the family, and knows more about buses than most.  Sun used to be a warranty shop for Eagle buses and that was all that Sun ran at that time.  I have bought lots of parts from them and had lots of work done there.  Good People

Sounds like Goodson has a very good Customer Satisfaction rating here..Thats a rare thing this day and time. Nobody ever done business with MCI Bus Sales in Roanoke??? Their website says they are not affilliated with Motor Coach Industries.
