hi all as many off you known i live in costa rica and am building my dream bus and is coming along nicely but still a lot to do.
this year has been a little rough lots of work and dealing with physical therapy. now i friend had to go in to the hospital and
may not make it he has asked me to sell off all of his stuff if he does not make it as his wife will not stay hear alone . i have
had to do a few sales now for deaths and am thinking live is to short my wife told me a while back that we would go someplace
for my birthday this year july 29 as she said we need to get away it has been many years with out a vacation so i want your
advice & thoughts and maybe your help i am thinking of buying a moterhome allmost anywhere and just take 30 days or so to
relax i have found a few gmc moterhomes by owner was thinking they hold a good value if i can get a good deal on one and store
it somewhere then i can come back and drive down to jacks rally in december and find a place to store or sell it so what i am asking
is if i think i found a deal and have phoned owner if it was close to one of you would you go look at it and tell me what you think
and after my first trip does anyone have a place to store it thats near a airport ? does this sound stupid or just wait a year to finish
my bus ? i was thinking if i fly up for a trip of say 30 day i need to rent a car stay in hotels eat out ect my thought is to find a moterhome in the $ 5000 range i found two in the $ 7000 range and both are older couples and said make offer lots of help needed
thanks john

I can't help you in your search, I think Canada may be farther than you are thinking, but I encourage you in your plan!  I also think life is too short and that you should do now what your passion leads you to, for tomorrow may be too late.

john,
we'll pick you up in Cleveland!  Don't know what to do with you then as we will be moving out of our house into the motorhome permanantly, but maybe we can find one up here, then drive it to arcadia where i know a couple folks that may be willing to let you park it outside for a very small fee.  i know some other folks further north in florida and i know they have a motorhome in their yard that belongs to a couple from england.

come to think of it, maybe you can rent theirs for a few weeks.  i don't know them well, so this is all very speculative..

how's lydia?

If you buy something to then resell........... when your done with it sell it by raffling. 100 50 dollar chances or 250 20 dollar chances or anything that fits the #'s you need, do it at the rally if you can. I used to work on large consrtuction jobs and guys were using this method to sell all kinds of stuff.... boats bikes cars.

Lot of fun. You need to check into local laws and structure it correctly as to not brake any tax laws.

If you find one in the Chattanooga, TN area I'll be happy to look it over for you.

I agree with Tom, there are sure to be some folks that will let you park it for free or cheap.  Or you could keep it here, Mr. Bowen has good RV/Bus storage rates and there is  the Chattanooga airport here, or an hourly shuttle service to the Atlanta airport.  And if you were interested, I'm sure the shop could do maintenance and arrange to have it cleaned/detailed before your arrival for the rally.  (for that matter, that could be done when you first get it too)

thanks tom mike & joe tom lidia is fine we will see you and fran at jack in dec as for my crazy plan i would like to find something to say
use in aug. so say i found something in ohio tx or wherever i would like to head to fl. slowly if i made 1/4 or 1/2 that would be fine then
fly back in nov and slowly make down to jacks rally  see for me i have stock in taca / lacsa the costa rica flagship airline i can go any
where thay fly for all most free and all stockholder tickerts are open for 18 months zero fees so say i fly in to ny i can fly out of atlanta
or miami  so comming and going or no big deal and i am not giving up on my bus just need to get away  thanks guys your a great group

John,
Life is definitely to short to keep saying "we will do it later".  "Later" comes a lot quicker then you realize.  We are presently at Ray & Ann Edwards in NC, going to Don & Carol Warthans, near Richmond, VA on Thursday, then over to see Tom & Fran on OH. From there we may go up into MI, and maybe Canada for a suprprise birthday party for an un-named busnut. If you need a motorhome checked out anywhere near us, just let me know. We will be glad to check it out for you.  Jack

John, if you need a place west of Murphy NC to park something, just let me know. I'll be on the road out to the western US and back from mid-july to mid-august, but I don't have to be home for you to park something in my front roadside lot. I am in a very rural location with all paved roads in and out of the region, about 2.5 hours drive northeast of Atlanta GA. I already have four buses of my own parked here, along with over a dozen cars, trucks, and vans, so one or two more big vehicles will not be out of place.
