Did someone say not to long ago that carrier was going to stop production of RV rooftop units?
If I am thinking of another unit anyone have input on this model?

Carrier has a German made, roof top unit that is about 8" tall, for those of us with height limitations.

Model number is AC 350, or AC 353 and AC 313, if you need more than one unit to keep your coach cool.

I have been talking with them for some time now, and if you need details, let me know and I can send you a spec sheet.

I was thinking about two of the units for now and adding a third later. I like the idea of low profile 15,000 BTU w/ heat pump. Low profile is just to keep the roof from looking cluttered.

PCC
Are the specs for the same unit I posted the link to?

Bryan

PCC

No. The unit you posted is much smaller than the unit I have been talking with them about.

The unit Carrier and I are discussing is 181" long, 53" wide, and about 8" tall.

It is both heat and cool with an estimated 137,000 BTU.

PCC,

Holy smokes Batman  :o thats allot of Heat & Air! Are you cooling 3 buses at once  ???
I think that is a little more than I need. Will that not cycle way to much for a bus?

I thought this was about Carrier brand AC's, not air conditioning a carrier!
You don't have to believe everything you think.

Dometic makes a heat pump 15,000 that is 7" tall, I used three of them they also can be ducted and zoned!

Bryan, Carrier has gone out of the RV  roof mounted business but parts and service are easy to find.
Forgive me Nick but I thought Carrier had the best roof top on the market seriously Bryan they are a good unit and never a problem with water running down the side of your bus they used it to help with cooling

good luck

Clifford,

The company on ebay is saying they have just received Carrier units in June. Maybe Carrier is selling out already built units?

Bryan, check the PPL web site a friend bought 4 of those units with the inside unit for a 500 bucks a piece last month don't believe much of what the ebay sellers tell you.
We drove 500 miles today to look at a 2001 H-45 that a seller told me was top notch just a little damage to the passenger side at the back rear wheels hell the whole side was gone from a brake fire.
One good thing happen my wife bought her a Safari MH on the trip that may be not so good huh nice little coach the bed drops from the ceiling. There are deals on the Carriers wait if you can till after summer never buy AC's in the summer or furnaces in the winter lol

Clifford,

I know about not buying air in the summer but if I want to use it this summer I have to. I am a bargain shoppe so I will look for the best deal. I will check with PPL
Some people see damage a little differently don't they, LOL!
Did she buy it for you two to use or to flip it?

Thanks

People that lie are disgusting. >:(  Good that it worked out.

Was the Safari a "TREK"model?  They used to come with a IZUZU 4 banger D that was awesome and got 17 MPG or some such.  It took off like a scalded cat and the engine looked like it should have been in a Kaboda lawn mower.  With the bed arrangement, that coach was HUGE for it's footprint.

The disadvantage of the Carrier low profile rooftop is the exposed fan on the top.  If you go through low branches they might get stuck in the fan.

Carrier is indeed out of the RV air conditioning business.  You can find the press release with a minute of Google searching.  PCC is talking a commercial type unit from Carrier designed for a passenger coach and not a an RV type unit.
