Well I thought I would followup on my post http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=16043.0 .what I found after I took my Blower Pulley assembly apart was unevenly worn drive segments(second Photo). I guess I will also need to know a source if anyone knows of one so I can order segments (6c-6-82) as well.

I have my doubts that you can get these anymore, but i will sure be interested if you can.

Looks like you are right Ed Hackenbruch no replys I might see what it would cost to get a machine shop to make them if I can find some specs.

Ed Hackenbruch

Jaime, if you do that and the cost is not too great, maybe you could have them make an extra set and hang on to it for awhile.  Sooner or later one of us is going to run into the same problem. :)

Good suggestion Ed Hackenbruch I just wish I had a Good template to get good angles and dimensions.

Try to contact Fred Hobe. I don't have his number but he used to purchase pulleys and have them machined to a smaller diameter for more air flow.  Someone on this board may have Fred's number. Also someone was parting out a 5 on the board.

You might also try talking to Sam Caylor.  He might know/have something.  7858783405.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

well I called Sam Caylor as suggested and he recommended I install the same pulley the MCI 8 and 9 use, So I bought one and it is on it's way I will use that pulley until I can get the guides made for my current pulley. so thanks for the help Lin and James77MCI8.

Isn't the deal that your current pulley essentially changes diameter so that it puts the tension on the belt?  If you go to a standard pulley you will need a different way to tension the belt, would you not?  Or do i have this totally wrong in my mind's eye?

bevans6 I did ask that question and I discussed it with Mr. Caylor which he described and explained my setup to me and then how it was set up in newer model such as the 8 and 9. I have the adjustments bolts at the base of the fan drive which allow me to adjust the belt tension. I believe a few others have mentioned that they have welded or bolted there pulley halves together and essentially done the same thing. The reason that a decided to go with the solid pulley is it should be balanced which should cut down on vibration. Interestingly enough I could tell when the belt was thrown by the loss of vibration in the couch then the temp would start to climb. I do however want to fix the original pulley as it appears to me a way to obsorb some of the torque of the motor with the use of the spring, not really sure this is true though.
