Interesting, in the fifth pic down on the left side, it appears to be a residential type boiler. Any thoughts on that idea?

You are right.  That is a residential boiler - overkill.   The 35' bus also had a 15KW (overkill) generator.   There are more appropriate diesel furnaces (Webasto and Pro heat) available for bus conversions.
