Decided to start new thread instead of hi-jacking other...have no miter box now...have power steering pump...or air fan clutch that came with engine package....or two large (blade type)electric fans that came out of the condenser compartment...and have radiator and 2 different fan blades that came with the 60 series out of a 2000 freightlinner..rad fits opening good....minor shroud problems but easy fix..soooooo elect would be easy, then hydraulic(have relays and motors)and last miter box (most expensive)...opinions please.....

Price out the Prevost brackets.   The Drivers A/C compressor is also mounted on the miter shelf.   I have rebuilt the air bellows on my miter box.   It is a nice system.

Bob, if anyone knows how to reach Tom Owens he was parting out a 97 XLL a few months back I have lost his number.

good luck

will the 60 series require more cooling than my 8v92?

Tom Owen not Bob I bought the complete assembly with the mitre box, drive shaft and pulley a couple of years ago from him for 500 bucks.
I am still looking for his number and address he scraps out Prevost.
Have you ask Todd for the number of the lady in Canada that owns the Prevost wrecking yard he gave it to me last year but she did not like to ship parts but she can be persuaded lol

Bob, the 60 series will require less radiator but you are going to need a good size air to air charger to move the heat.Turbo boost move the heat from a 60 series and water on a 2 stroke

the air to air that fits between turbo and intake manifold is on the radiator I have so that's good..We have a nice little machine shop so we can build brackets and drives...might try to duplicate miter box on 89 we have now...have several (miter boxes) but am Leary of torque required to turn that large fan...don't want it Thru  radiator...have one with a 1 inch shaft in and out but need to ck speed and gear ratio and compare to 89's miter box..prob better mechanical..less controls ....and less complicated

Bob, Clifford is correct about the radiator sizing.   However with the side mounted intercooler it really needs to be larger than your Freight-shaker IC.    I can give you the measurements from my IC.   Did you also notice that you have a fuel cooler that sits under the IC and infront of the engine radiator also..

Are you planning on running a A/C compressor for the dash and front compartment?   The condensor sits infront of the IC.    Prevost has had problems with the fan clutch.   I ended up welding mine solid>>no clutch.   I haven't had any problems.   I seen two radiators with the fan assy/clutch launched into it.

I had seen some parts on ebay the other day from a wrecked prevost. you may have to look under compleated items to find them.

guess I've got a lot more to learn about the 60series than I hoped!!Intercooler needs to be bigger than truck one??Didn't know about fuel cooler. Need to get manual(will in short order)...I hoped this would be a easy drop in with a little fabrication...will truck radiator be enough since it will be mounted sideways in rear and not get any head on air flow??will be using drivers ac ;compressor from truck still belted up on engine.what I have..2000 12.7 60 series with Eaton autoshift 470 hp according to tags(numbers).have radiator out of same truck...all parts sources greatly appreciated..

Robert, that series 60 has 2 tags on it for the HP rating the one up front tell the true HP they are all tested at 470 hp pay no attention to the tag that says tested just a little info for you.

tag says tested at 1800rpm at 430 hp[ on front tag it says 470hp at 2100rpm...any way with the Eaton it should be a improvement over the 8V92 and 5spd Allison....building the coach lite weight will help also...I checked radiator and it does have the fuel cooler also..I have a 1to1 miter box that I hope will work....I inch in and out (same as one on 89)...also have extra prevost fan(blade) so will try to mock up and evalvewait...thanks to all....Bob..
