LMAO!!! My bus used to travel that route........ I certainly did not write that, but I can relate with the frustrated driver that wrote it. A bumper sticker that says "You want to get the xxxx away from me and I also want you to do that. " would be classic!

I don't (think I) know the driver, but I know the route and the bus.  She or he is spot-on.  Most of the buses are RTS's, although they are just starting to change them out for slightly more modern equipment.

The route in question is a twisty mountain four-lane that is one of the bloodiest highways in California.  It is consistently singled out for extra enforcement by the CHP.  The road crosses the Santa Cruz mountains between the coast and the Santa Clara Valley ("Silicon Valley"), rising from sea level to 1,800' and then back down again, with grades of up to 8%.  We try to avoid it in the bus, but we've done it; the best we can do is perhaps 45mph uphill, and we have to ride the retarder the whole way down.  Nevertheless it is part of the daily commute for over 50,000 vehicles.

The road is so challenging that part of the final exam for San Jose motor officers is a 65mph formation ride over the hill.  Slowing down, changing lanes, or moving so much as 6-8" out of formation is enough to disqualify you from motors until the next class (usually a year or more wait).

That was funny  :D We had a good laugh at the office during lunch. He had a good point about how people drive.

I imagine some of us have had those thoughts, he just had to guts to put it into words!  :P

There are some crazy drivers out there, I had my fill in LA for several years! That I-5, 405 corridor is nuts most of the time. ;D

I used to drive that road almost daily.  It has some amazingly treacherous sections and basically no alternatives.  Accidents, like a rig overturning,  have sometimes left people sitting in dead traffic for 6 to 8 hours.  If someone is a poor driver, either in judgement or control, it really comes out on 17.  It is very common for cars to just line up and travel in the left lane to avoid right lane obstacles and interference.  This effectively makes the right lane into the passing lane if you can make a move avoiding the intermittent buses and gravel trucks.
You don't have to believe everything you think.
