Hi all, My problem began on our way to richmond on thursday. We stayed that nite at the flyin j on 95 and in the morning when we left the not gen light didn't go out after the air built up like normal, so I tryed turning the otr air on and nothing, then I turned on the defroster fan and a few seconds later the light went out and every thing worked normal. Then turn every thing off and a few seconds later the light is back on and the otr air will not come on until the defroster or the parking lights are turned on. Could this be the voltage regulator or a alternator problem? or some relay? Ground? It seams to be charging even when the light is off, the gauge shows around 26-27 volts. Thanks Jason   + I have tried searching the board but every time I do nothing come's up even close to what I searched for even in the advanced search, any thoughts.

Relax, sounds like a small problem.

Did you have a battery charger running overnight/while going down the road? Generator/house system tied to the coach start batteries?

In layman's terms, two charging sources will fool the regulator to stop charging.

By turning on some small load, you tricked the regulator to charge again.

Or, some experience the regulator cutting out when the Coach is all charged up and no loads are on.

A stock coach wouldn't head down the road without something turned on, and many run with lighting on for safety in the daytime, so many will never experience the phenomenon in their converted coach.

happy coaching!

Thanks buswarrior, Over the winter I did install a battery maintainer and it would have been on from the house batteries over nite. This was the first trip out from winter so there is always little problems. Thanks again Jason
