I have a tube on the core that is weeping.

I know that I can take it into a radiator shop and they will block off/seal that tube.

Where do you folks go to get OEM radiator cores?

Ace

Not trying to hi-jack this thread but I too am wondering where to shop for a new or rebuilt or even a good used radiator from an H3 prevost with an 8v92?

Ace;

Why do you need a NEW/used one?   Spare??

I assume that you and I are doing the same thing.   We don't need a new radiator, we just need the new core.

Ace

After inspecting mine I found the bottom tank area to be pretty corroded! Not exactly sure how bad it is but this last trip we took we found our 8v92 to be running hotter than usual! It runs about 193 at 68 mph and 200 at 75 mph and that's on the flats! Going up hills it reached 205 but never above that! I thought if I could find a good deal on one, I would bite the bullet!

Check if you have a Commercial Radiator near you  --- they supply new radiators and used to have repair shops as well

What is the size of the radiator?  I have a rebuilt one.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

I have bought 4 radiators from Diesel radiator service in Chicago and have been very satisfied.   In fact, I ordered form another supplier once and actually returned them when I observed their quality.   At one time, Diesel Radiatory supplied MCI with their service radiators.   They may still.

Most large cities will have a radiator shop or two.  When my engine wasn't cooling well I took the radiator out and took it to be cleaned at a local radiator shop.  They found stop leak had been used to patch pin holes.  They could have either soldered the tubes shut or replaced the core.  They had a core in stock so I had the core replaced.  It cools great now.    I'll never know if the repaired core would have been enough.

I have no idea if Prevost in Texas will tell you where they buy the cores , the H-41 I bought for resale needed a core and they bought one from a local manufacture in the Dallas area it wasn't far from the center the parts runner left and was back in less than 30 minutes also saved me 300 bucks over one from the Prevost parts dept.
With the price of copper today I feel bad for you guys.

good luck

Folks Thanks..   I have a few baited hooks out right now.

Clifford,  I'll call the service center and see what the parts guys say.

Ace, I would call all the Prevost service centers including the new one in BC.   Many times they will order because of time and insurance monies paying the bill.   They scrap the core for $$$ and have the tanks lying around..

I saw last weekend during the Nascar race that the radiators they run go between 10 and 12 thousand!
