picked up my exhaust stack today...pictures added

From about 20 minutes after I got my bus I wanted to have a high exhaust on it, I just didn't like blowing the exhaust and yes, smoke, down low in city driving, at toll booths, and in campgrounds.  I ordered a custom setup from a local truck exhaust place, to go from the outlet of the stock MCI muffler, under the back bumper, and up the back, with a stainless shield and a chrome stack on top of that.  I just have to fabricate some mounts and I should be good to go.  I'll take pictures when it's done.  I expect it will look a little redneck, but just because I'm from Ontario doesn't mean I don't appreciate a little redneck from time to time      I'm even trying to play a  little bluegrass on my guitar to add to the blues and jazz I usually ruin trying to play...

Wasn't it Ruthi (?) that put 2 stacks out the back. One was for fresh air in. And Brian don't be using the words "appreciate a little redneck from time to time" on a regular basis!

Install is complete, except for getting some nicer looking mounting clamps and adding one under the bumper to take the vertical load better.  Results are amazing, frankly.  It is far quieter with the noise 11' off the ground, and the smoke and exhaust is far far less noticeable.  It tucks right in between the engine door and the turn signals, only problem is poor access to the radiator covers.  If that turns out to be an issue I will replace the hinge with four Dzus fasteners on the outboard to match the four on the inboard.  Cost was $750, near enough, including the custom adaptor to the muffler, which had a 4 3/8" outlet which is non-standard, and happened to be 2" higher than the lip of the bumper, so it had to wiggle down some.

I had it built by http://www.texisexhaust.com/, Mississauga Ontario, I designed it and faxed them a detailed drawing, they built it to the drawing, all of the parts except the adaptor are stock items, I went and picked it up as a kit of pieces, fabricated mounts, and it went on perfectly the first time.  You'd think I knew what I was doing!  Here is a picture of a header I built for a Reynard Formula Ford last year, I finished another one in January but I didn't take pictures of it.

You get that old 8v71 churning going up a mountain and belching fire at 900 degrees you can put the 3 lights on a milk carton they will be lost but it looks nice

Brian, nice headers like you built are a piece of art and a touch of class to any vehicle. The bus exhaust serves it's purpose...artfully so! I am truly impressed that you can draw something out and someone someplace else can fabricate it and then it all fits together!!!!!!
