Well went to Chicago yesterday and picked up my new to me 35 foot 1979 Prevost, Liberty conversion.  It rides and drives superbly!  Now the fun will begin.  The 6V-92 cruises nicely at 2000 RPM which is about 68-69 the NTX of 2100 would be about 5% faster, so a nice 70+.

A few things that will need looking at.  The gen set is connected to a charger that is supposed to be charging the house batteries, that does not work, the house batteries are charged by the Detroit.  I get severe windshield fogging when starting out, not sure why but have some ideas.  Kept the coach warm (mostly) at night with the ee heaters.  The coach as an ESPAR air heater that does not work, a condition very familiar to others on this forum I suspect.  This morning I figured out that the coach hot water heaters work off the same thermostat as the cruise airs, so going down the road do not have to have the ee heaters on.  (Blowers seem to make more noise than the heat they direct).

So first things:

Trouble shoot and diagnose what is wrong with the battery charger.  If truly broken will replace with an inverter/charger.
Take a shot a diagnosing when the after market cruise control does not work.
Perhaps bring the coach into an ESPAR dealer and see if anything leaps out at them for being a problem.
Visit with some local busnuts to pick their brain on some of my other issues.  (actually this will probably happen first)

So great trip, that I did not want to end.

Chuck,

Congratulations!  I became a busnut about a year ago when I bought an MC-9.  This board has been really helpful.  Three weeks ago I bought a new to me 1981 Prevost.  I plan on taking pictures of it soon and posting to the board this weekend. I have similar problems as you.  I have an Espar that is not working and the 12V adn 24V inverters seem not work either.  I do not want to hijack your thread so I will leave it at that for now.

Where are you located?

Enjoy your new bus!

May the "yippee skippee" never leave.  My older battery charger didn't have a float setting so it cooked the batteries.  You might watch out for that problem.

Congrats! We have always wanted a Prevost. In time, in time. Enjoy it and take it out often. We love our bus and it changed our lives. We would not change a thing. All the Best, M&C ;D
