999-999-9999 calls ???

Hello  Anyone getting calls from 999-999-9999?    I wonder what thats all about.    Received a call and it went to the answer machine and squealed the whole time.  I wonder if it wanted to get to the computer but I always shut the modem off when we are not using it.

In my experience that number usually comes up when it is a business that has blocked their caller ID.  Usually a soliciter, political call, or other scam.  Given the squeel, it may have been one of the mass fax solicitations.

Just be thankful for caller ID.  I've got one number that routinely phones me and - if I am foolish enough to answer - blows a LOUD foghorn in my ear and then a computer voice tries to sell me a cruise vacation.  What's that all about?  Are people actually stupid enough to buy that crap?  I guess they must be because my phone keeps ringing.

Try calling you cell phone provider and see if you can get those calls blocked and if not complaine loudly to them, always ask for a higher up. It just might work.
