When i first got Sat tv I was given a DVR for free.  Of course, I had to barter like heck.  It was free to me and you get the same price.

This DVR is not Hi  Def but it has worked for many years fault free.  If you have Dish service, you could use it as a DVR instead of one of your regular receivers.  The advantage is that being "owned" you don't pay the monthly service rental for a DVR....$10/m.  Would also let you dedicate one for the bus and not be carrying them back and forth.

We received our free DVR from DirecTv a copule of months ago, just to show they do the same thing to get you hooked! ;D
