Yesterday, I finally brought home the Kenworth Aerodyne from the body company.  It was there for 7 months-although they were not working on it the whole time-also gave me a good price on the box.  It is built with 4x4 1/4" angle iron over the frame with a 1/2" nylon spacer U bolted every 32 inches.  Then 2x2 square tubing with 1/8" walls on 16" center for the floor with 1" plywood over.  Then 1.5x1.5 square tubing also with 1/8" wall on 16" center for the walls and ceilings.  Most truck converters use .040" outside aluminum sheeting-I used .063".  The roof has a 8'x8' 1/4" aluminum diamond plate with fold up railings for observation deck.
I had it weighed, and the chassis was 17,600lbs, and with the box, 27,300lb-so the box weighed 9,700lbs (32ft x 102" wide x 108" tall).  With the 400hp Caterpillar and the HT740, coming up the Kellogg hill in Pomona, Ca-which is a 6% grade, I actually was accelerating a bit.  So driving should be easy.
Needless to say, I'm excited to get going-am going out on Sunday to tape off the inside with my wife.  And the fun begins!  Good Luck, TomC
