Electrical question

    My OTR AC was removed, the area where the condenser was located has a few small electrical boxes. Has anyone used those

    and what did you use them for .  I ask because when I turn on the toggle switch (as if you turn on the AC) a red light

    comes on the dash.  I assume that it is still "HOT".....

That red light is probably the call for heat indicator. There was a sensor into the air tunnel from the front bay (at least on the MC8 and 9).

AS for the boxes, there is wiring, relays, circuit breakers in there for the A/C and heat motors and valves. They can be used elsewhere. There
is other wiring in there that is not specific to the A/C or heat that might have to remain, so make sure you know what you're disconnecting before
you do. More than one has ripped everything out and then been sorry they didn't pay more attention to what they were removing.

If you remove something, take a picture first. That way if a mistake is made at least you have a record of how it should go back together.

Of course I've never had any wiring issues!

Normally a panel light has its own separate wire from an electrical terminal in a box to the panel via the switch.

This may or may not mean anything else has power.

To find out, turn on the switch and probe the old AC connections with a voltmeter.

Get in there with a voltmeter and find out which of those lines are live.  I know that some are, unless previously worked on.  Some of the lines run to the drivers side AC bay and are heavy gauge wire.  They can be pulled through and perhaps recycled into other projects, so don't just hack and pull.  Some go to relays in that drivers side AC bay, and those relays can be used to tie house batteries to start batteries if both systems are 24V.  Lot's of good parts there, so take your time and keep'em!

I strongly second taking a picture.  I actually put things back correctly but second guessed my self into 3 days and $400.00 of trouble.  If I had taken a picture it would have been 4 hours and $15.00 of trouble.
