We are starting to finish out our steps. We have been puzzling how to finish them out. Does anybody have any idea?

I would really like to see pics. What does your entry steps look like.

Clifford, do you have pics of yours? If not, Van, could you take some pics and post them, or email me them? I would like to see pics of the inside of Clifford's bus too (how the windows are trimmed, flooring, etc).

That goes for others too. Whatever pics you have of the inside, and steps, would be great!

Thanks a lot....

God bless,

John

John, that is going to depend on choice and how much foot traffic you get people do it all different ways me I like the black granite with the bull nose.
Folks use wood, tile, stainless steel, rubber, carpet, stone and I know one that has Corian with the rolled edges and the Corian is holding up good I was surprised how well it is doing.
Make sure you do the sides it looks finshed then.
I redoing mine with the Black Granite but that is my way and I will pm you a photo when I am through

good luck

We went with ceramic tile. Won't absord diesel, dirt, water.  Easy to clean.  We also com[letely removed OEM steps and built all new framing, adding a 4th step and making smaller risers. Each step is capped with a red oak bull nose with rope lighting recessed into the bottom of the bull nose.  Jack

Jack, those are awesome!!!!! Beautiful work

Sam 4106

Hi John,
We did the treads and risers in our 4106 with prefinished oak strip flooring with oak wainscoting on the sides stained to match the flooring. My wife insisted on having mats on the treads that were hard to keep in place even with non-skid material under them.

We are redoing the steps in our MC8 now (there was carpet on them when we got the bus, very dirty) with painted wainscoting on the sides and risers but with indoor outdoor carpet on the treads. The indoor outdoor carpet has a rubber back and a painted bullnose will be fastened about a 1/4" above the surface of the tread to keep the carpet in place. I may have to adjust the height of the bullnose when the carpet comes in. I was supprised at the selection of indoor outdoor carpet available. We ordered the carpet from Home Depot and it takes 2 weeks to get, should be here next week. The carpet will be easy to remove for cleaning and with the bullnose raised above the tread it should stay in place. Plus, if it gets stained it will be easy and inexpensive to replace. If my wife doesn't like how that works we have enough vinyl from redoing our kitchen floor to do the steps. But then I know she will want mats to cover the vinyl again.

Good luck, Sam 4106/MC 8

John, Here is our front entry. We used corian and carpet. This was done six years ago and is holding up fine.

Great Looking Steps There Jack. SWEET !! :o

Love Yours Too Wayne. Are Those All Doors On The Side Of The Steps? I Mean, Do They Open For Storage? VERY COOL.!!

I Have Carpet On Mine. With Carpet Over That With Snaps For Removal. Easier To Clean That Way. I Blow The Carpet Pieces Out With Air. Cleans Right Up ! But,I Bought It That Way. I Kinda Like The Black Marble Idea Though. ???

Thanks Guys.

Thanks for the ideas, and pics. They have really helped out. Now we will see which ones we blend together, and then we will put them in a bag, shake them up, and see what comes out ;D :D ;D.

Thanks again, I will post a pic of the "finished" product.

God bless,

John

Here's ours

Andy, do you have anymore pics of your entrance? We have been considering doing an entrance like that, where the copilot is next to the pilot. How tall are your steps, and do you have any trouble with them being a little different?

Thanks.

God bless,

John

Not at all John , As much as I have been running up and down those things latlely .  I can move my copilot seat over to one side or the other. and that gives me a little more room when needed. You can go to my project page at the eagle board and check it out . hope it helps Andy
