Hello,

We just recently purchased our first bus, a 1963 GM PD-4106.  We are hooked!  It is an old band bus, with no plumbing and an older remodel, but will be a great use-as-we-fix type of project.

I was wondering if anyone on the board might know it's original history (seems some of you have some records on these).  It is # 1734.

We only had it for a few days before we took it to the mechanic for getting the basics taken care of, and we'll start to post more as we do more, I imagine.  I drove it from Indianapolis, IN to our home in the Akron, OH area, and it was as much fun as I've ever had in a vehicle, even in its current peeling paint, 70's decor state!

Thanks,
-Tim

Welcome and good luck! You may want to contact those on the GMC busnuts site as well. I am sure someone can give you the basic history of the bus. Sure would be nice to see some photos!

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here, we might as well dance.

Coz,

First, Welcome to the FUN!

Second, That's NO ugly duckling.

When I first brought ours home, (I had told the kids that I was getting a bus and getting rid of the class "C")
my daughter walked out to take a look at OUR new RV.  Well, after we figured out why she was crying, I tried to convince here the pumpkin would turn into a golden carriage....Didn't help much, but today she loves it...
