Please make plans to attend the 2010 Scenicruise April 8-9. A historic gathering of surviving GMC PD4501 Scenicruisers. We will meet in Adrian, Texas which is the midway point between Chicago and Los Angeles on Route 66. Take photos and cruise Route 66 to Amarillo, Texas where the buses will be displayed. If you can bring a Scenic in any condition, or you are just an enthusiast you are more than welcome! T-shirts will be available. Please forward this info to anyone that you feel would enjoy such a gathering. I hope to see you all in Texas! Now get busy on those buses! Don't miss it! Feel free to contact me for specifics.

We can't bring the bus, but if the kid's school schedule works out, we'll be there.

As soon as I get your account #, I'll be glad to have the orphans taken for a ride.

~2600 miles * $2 per mile = ~$5200 per orphan.

How many do you want to send?

Kyle,
(If you can bring a Scenic in any condition)
I thought you had one Scenicruiser that was running am I wrong in thinking that?
Understand it's a long way from where you are to the Texas Panhandle.
It's a long days drive for me from where I live in East Texas to Amarillo,Texas.
Any way come on out to Texas if you can.

I do have one in 'running condition', problem is the radiator leaks a little much for any trip over an hour. . . .

Then there is the small mold & rotted wood issue from the roof leaks.

Not to mention the remnants of the gross 70's conversion . . .

Then there is the issue with old tires - some may be fine with running 20 year old tires, but I ain't one of them.

I have Scenicruise 2010 info updates available to those interested. Lodging/ campground, etc. Just shoot me an email and I can send attachment your way. I have had great response to this event so far. Many non-scenic owners are planning to fly in just to be part of this.

I had the opportunity to see those buses and visit with a few owners when they came through Laughlin a few years back.
There is lot of history involved with those buses and route 66 but a couple of Eagles and MCI's would look good in the group LOL

I'll try to say this without coming off as a giant jerk........ However you get to this event is totally up to you, but the display and cruise is intended for Scenicruisers only. This has only occurred one other time back in 2007 in Laughlin, NV. They had 5 or 6 Scenics together. We should have those same buses out of California, plus some more from other areas of the country. It is so rare to see a 4501 on the road, let alone a group of them, that we want to capture this special event with photos and video with 4501s only. Thanks

Ooops, didn't realize it was for Scenics only!

Paul
The main cruise & display is for surviving PD4501 Scenicruisers. The gathering before & after is for anyone interested. There will be enough empty seats in the seated scenics for others to ride in the cruise. How cool is that?

Riding in a seated scenic is a cool experience! The view out the upper windshields is amazing. Having a rear window to look back at what you just passed is not common in modern buses. . .

So, don't let the lack of having a PD4501 deter you from attending . . .

I don't have a problem with it if I am in that area I will stop and visit as I know a few of the owners.
That is one good thing about not being a FMCA chapter if it was a chapter you could not exclude any make or model if they belonged to FMCA.
