euro style mirrors

Does anyone have any info on this style mirrors. We need to purchase some for the conversion we are doing on our Dina. I know they arent cheap, but, good mirrors are important. Does anyone else have these and if so, where did you purchase them, and what was the price?

Ruthi, your school bus manufactures like Blue Bird and others have the best price.
Volvo,Van Hool and Setra are very expensive for that type mirror.
Rosco is the manufacture 1-800-227-2095 and I was told they will sell direct to the public but I never bought direct.

Try Ebay and type in Velvac on the search. I bought 2 new black Velvac mirrors heated, motorized and have turn signals on the arm for $248 for the pair plus shipping. Normal cost through Velvac would be $480 each plus shipping. There are some great buys on Ebay. I missed out on some chrome ones that went for $430 for the pair, I stopped my bidding at $420.

Ruthi, I don't think Ramco and Velvac make the roof mounted mirrors Rosco was the only manufacture I found when looking for a replacement you can buy with heat and remote also (big bucks)

You are right. I was just looking at that. Lucinex sells them, or did. But they got them from Belgium, and now they are coming up with their own design. We also talked to someone who thinks they might have the mounting brackets for the original Dina, and then we could get the mirrors we would want to put on them.

I have the curb side mirror bracket for a Dina if that will help.  I do not have the mirror itself, but you can get that from Lucerix.

I have a euro type mirror on my Dina on the curb side and it sucks.  It doesn't stick out far enough.  It works, but barely.

Thanks Brian, we will keep that in mind, havent quiet decided which way we are going to go yet. What kind of mirrors did you end up with?

The mirrors I got are from some European company.  I don't recall the name right now.  I got them from Ron the Busnut so presumably they were for an RV or something on a Spartan chassis.

I only installed the new mirror on the curb side.  The driver's side is still the original.

Ruthi, if you like the Arcol as posted by Dan C they can be ordered from Volvo or Scania they look better than they are. 2800.00 bucks a set with the arms plus shipping.
Check your local truck wrecking yard some trucks use the roof mounted mirrors you may need to modify the arms but most were heated and remote controlled

  hi if the ones you are looking for are the kind that come off the roof line
  and then hang down yes they are expensive thats why a small shop hear
  made molds and makes them out of heavy fiberglass if i remember they
  used to sell for $ 400 for the pair if you want i can go by next week and

Thanks for that Arcol link - turns out they list the mirrors fitted to my bus. This is handy as I want to buy a new one in due course. My bus has 'rabbit ear' mirrors on both sides (what I think everyone is referring to a 'Euro style'), but for some reason the arm on the drivers side mirror is much shorter than on the passenger side. I'm sure this is because the driver's side simply doesn't require the long arm, but having non-matching mirrors looks a bit odd, so I had in mind to buy another of the 'long arm' type at some stage.
