I got my roof raised last week and all the doors, caps, skins, and the floor is out.  Just need to replace some bad tubing and then hit it with some primmer.  The goal is to have her painted by the end of the month and do the inside work this winter.

Looking great! I hope you have lots of help to get it in primer this month, that's quite an undertaking. I wish you well! ;)

Whoa, hold on, don't prime anything! Eagles won't run unless there is a little rust there! I thought everyone knew that.  :D :D :D

You might save an old rusty piece and put it in the bay for a keepsake, as to not upset the natural balance of the universe.

If I didn't have a GM, and could afford an Eagle, that's what I would have. I love the look. Great job on the modification. Love the pics.

I got the front cap from RM Fiberglass.  It should be in on Thursday.  The steel will not be in until next week, but I will need that much time to get the tubing done.  The cap has the 8 inch raise right above the windshield.

Chad, you have your work cut out for you making Richards front cap fit but he is a good guy and will help you out sure glad you saved the rear cap his caps look out of place on the rear of a Eagle.

Looks good.

Did you do it like Gene Lewis posted in his eagle article?

I talked to Craig at Eagle today and he said Richard's caps were good, just not as thick as the ones form Silver Eagle.  I should have the cap this week.  I will let everyone know how the install goes.

Paul, Richards rear caps are straight on the sides and back where the Eagles are tapered on the sides and 2 tapers from the roof line on the back with last 10 inches being straight.
Same on the front the radius is shorter between the sides and the slope
Nothing wrong with Richards front caps other than being a pain to install and were Eagles cap overlap on the top only with his they overlap on the sides also they can be made flush with a lot of work .
I just don't like the straight lines caps on his rear caps but he does that so they fit other buses.
Richard is a good guy he will work with Chad fitting the cap after all he may be looking for a gig with Chad

That tells me the caps on our Eagle are from Richard because the front does overlap on the sides, the rear is too vertical to match the design of the rear. Oh well, they have been on there a long time and will remain so I'm afraid.

Thanks,

Paul
