Hello to All.
I have recently obtained a Scenicruiser, and am in need of parts.
I am looking for the two right side lower compartment doors.
If anyone has or knows of any available please let me know.

Thank You
Tom Bojan

I sure hope you have better luck than I have. I have found several people that own parts buses (MC5A)and they say they have doors for sale but to actually get someone to go remove the doors and ship them is almost impossible. These people are suppose to be in the parts business. I have never tried to dicker about their asking price.

There is a "orphanage " of "scenic parts" in SC!

Good luck getting Kyle to part with any parts though, he's pretty found of them. As he uses them to keep fresh grass from growing on his lot. ;D

Seriously they are gonna be hard to find, but there are scenic nuts around who might just have knowledge of the parts you seek.

There are those out there who talk like quite the authority concerning Scenicruisers & parts - but all they are really doing is trying to make a proffit, NOT help the hobby.
Fortunately, the worst I know of doesn't currently post here.  8)

Patience will be your best friend when it comes to getting the parts you seek. Take the time to build your network of friends, that is where your best sources will show up.  ;D
Parts are out there, just not at every corner, you just have to be ready when they come available. Also, don't feel you are being held hostage & have to pay a stupid price either.
(I drove 2500 miles one way to get a bunch of old & picked over Scenicruiser parts. Best vacation I ever took!)

As for selling parts from the orphanage, Tom knows what it costs to move a non-runner & will understand a certain reluctance to part with stuff I'll be needing later. . .  ;)

If all else fails, I do have a couple doors that have curb rash, so you'll need to re-skin them. I believe IBP has the skins.

But I'm so far away, you'll have to work out something for getting them . . . .

You'll probably be able to find something closer. . . .

Pat McNeil (he owns & built the red & chrome stretched Scenicruiser) is in Baltimore, MD & will probably have that which you seek.

Do you need complete doors or just the skins?  IBP may be able to help with the skins.  1-800-468-5287 x232

If you guys have not checked out www.goodsonbussales.com and looked at the Scenic Crusier listed there for sale you need to. I am tempted myself by the wife is not too sure about another bus. It is listed under GMC Entertainers.  Ned Sanders mentioned this bus in another thread.

Some day when you just want to ride around  go up hy115 from statesville to wilkesboro.  You might get to see a very nice 4501 and a 4107"i think"  return by 15 and close to taylorsville on the right sits a 4104.

try to know where all "old" buses set

from wilksboro to lenoir just before you get to the 4lane in lenoir  look in the garage on your left. a 4104 that does not get rained on.  belongs to an old detroit mech.

No serial number listed in ad. I put a call into seller. It's a consignment. He is away until Monday. I will call back then. This one looks very familiar to me. I remember seeing those office desk chairs upstairs before. I am going to check my shed today for Tom's missing bin doors. He is only three hours from me.

Tom, After looking back at my pic's I found the Goodson bus to be that one listed on Ebay a while back.  It was being sold as PD-4501-155 out of Union Grove, NC.  To the best that I can remember it did not meet its reserve. Hope this works.  As for the lower doors, Best I can say is try to find yourself a parts bus as a donor.  That's what I had to do.

Hi Aaron

Your right....thats where I know that bus from. ebay! It was listed 5/08 for $35K. I have the auction hard copy in my files. It was PD4501-155 out of Union Grove, NC. I have the owners phone number if anyone wants that. I believe at that time, he may of had some of the original seats that he took out. Who knows....those could be long gone by now. If anyone wants seats, thats a possibility. May be be worth a call. As for Tom's lower bin doors, I think I have him fixed up. I'm heading up to his place with some on Monday. I have to go to Chicago for work, so it's a good excuse to check out Tom's new toy! :)
