Nick mentioned using "heat PEX" for radiant heating in a thread, but I never got an answer about what heat PEX.

Is "heat PEX" the same as oxygen barrier PEX?

None of the websites really specifically call anything heat PEX like Nick called it.  I am pretty sure the oxygen barrier PEX is the same thing, but trying to verify.

Oxygen barrier PEX is carried at Menards so I wouldn't have to get it from a plumbing supply place like Nick recommended, if it is the right stuff.

On the site Scanzel linked to, they refer to all of the heating Pex as oxygen barrier.

Hi Brian,

Yes Heat PEX is Oxygen barrier pex. I use a Heat Pex that is rated for 220 deg.'s .

If a safty should fail in a boiler system, the 220 deg. pex wont MELT and rupture.. :o

Just makes good sense not to flood a customers house should a disaster occur!
