We've had them available up here for a number of years, and they used to be powered with a 3 cylinder diesel.  Now that got good fuel mileage - a friend gets 80 mpg plus to the imperial gallon.

The U.S. gasoline model does 0-60 in 12.8 seconds.  Not offered in a 4x4 model.

The revised diesel engine introduced in Europe, and not available here, has 44 HP and 81 ft-lb torque. It does 0-62 mph in 20 seconds, and is good for 71.3 mpg (U.S. gallons). It has an 8.7 gallon tank, so that translates to 620 miles.   Two catches, however: First, it doesn't pass U.S. emissions.  Second, it is reportedly a very loud engine.

If you're going to be dumb, you gotta be tough.

They are a very tough car as can be seen in this crash test.

Could you get a picture? Do you think that is possible to do, it weighs something like 1900 lbs.

Looking at the picture of the car in front of the Eagle.  I can imagine the look on the car driver's face if that was at speed going down the road.  I would have a major brick forming in my drawers.  Speaking of mileage.  I have been driving my company car since it was brand new.  I am in a 2001 VW Jetta turbo diesel.  I have it full of tools and equipment with 2 ladders on top.  It has to be the equivalent of 4 to 5 people.  I can get on the tollway and get up to 60 mph in less than 10 seconds.  I can do 70 -80 mph all day long and still get 50 mpg.  By the way, it has over 303,000 miles on it today.  Still runs like a champ.  I get a real kick out of the car manufacturers when they boast 30 mpg on their gas vehilcles.  I was thinking about the efficiencies.  A bus can carry 47ish passengers and ger 5 mpg roughly.  Some of these scooters are getting supposedly 120 mpg.  Divide that by the 47 passengers, you only get 2.5 mpg.  That little car is cute but each person is now only getting 35 mpg.  Too much time to think.

Sorry, unfortunately, I will probably not see them until next winter. I am pretty sure is was a product and not something he fabricated himself.  Jack
