I'm curious if Rodney Monk was able to help?

I was going to have him look at doing some work on my bus, but he had some issues with the city of Fargo so he quit doing that kind of work.

Will a motor out of a cabover fire/utility truck work in a bus?

luvrbus

One from a truck will work for you may have to change a few parts from yours to the truck engine like the oil pan      good luck

AIRHOG

I have a 12V71 with a new 740 if that will help.

How about a 6v92 from a newer bus? What parts or mods would need to be made?

luvrbus

If you can buy one from a MCI with the cradle the only part you would need is a longer drive shaft the 6v92 is shorter than a 8v71

good luck

Thanks guys, I never knew how hard these things were to find!

Fredward

The one in South Dakota is gone. But you might try Dan Holter at Rochester City Lines 800-368-4874 or Nimco in N.J. 800-526-8055.

There not really that hard to find, It finding one at the price you want to pay.

Jack has one down in Florida that would get you out of a bind and you know it was well maintained.

I sent you a pm

Snow disappeared......Now where did I put that bus?

Keep in mind one from a truck is going to require a number of bolt on changes. The water pump/front motor mount is different, the alternator drive camshaft is different, the oil cooler and pump might be different and the rear flywheel/geartrain housing is probably different as well. All are bolt on changes, I"m sure and you already have all the right stuff.

hey, if you have the time and money we can do anything. I'm thinking t-drive with twin turbos at around 650hp. duel charge air's and rad's with there own hyd. fans  Then you could haul a big trailer with all those bikes and your truck

What do you think
