Ants, Can't live with them and we can't live without them. I am finding that the ants that live in and around RV resorts seem to be smarter than regular neighborhood ants. They seem to lie in wait until you pull into your site and hook up your lines. As soon as you go inside they attack. Within an hour they are in your rig sweeping your floor. Two hours and they have found your counter tops and sugar bowl. Left alone they will be into everything you own like the water reservoir in the IRON! I found them using the TV cable as a supper HWY to our food stores. They crossed over to the water piping and found the kitchen sink. From there they split off in all directions. I sprayed all the lines and tires. Christi vacuumed up the little nasties and we were enjoying the resort life until I was out in the bays and placed a set of golf clubs up against the bus. That evening, the floor was moving, again! I went out and found their new route in and removed it. Now we are more attuned to resort living and "dem dar ants"! How do you deal with them? Olny because "THEIR BACK"! >:(

We've been using "Combat Ant Killing Gel" for about 6 years. Just put a line of it down and they eat, go back to the ant hill and die, then the nephews and nieces eat them and die.

I'll trade you my Black Widows for your ants. Pesty little devels are everywhere here.

Eric

Wife and I use the Gel in our 5er as well! as for the black widows you can keep em!

Michael, I had problems with ants one time...they jumped in where I was having some work done and I mean it was bad, hundreds (maybe thousands) of them running all over the bus, inside and even outside in the bays. I went to Lowes and bought this ant bait, I didn't think it was going to work but it did - no lie, they were all gone the next day! A lot of them were on the ground around the outside of the bus dead by the next morning. The product I used is made by HOT SHOT and is called MAXATTRAX ANT BAIT.  It comes in a small red box 4 to a pack.  Trust me it works.

Black Widows huh, I'll take ants over them anyday. I remember seeing them all over when I lived in Tucson years ago. Here in Texas we just deal with rattlers! ;D

Good Luck,

Paul

So far we haven't seen any where we are staying. I'd like to keep it that way!

If they do show up we'll turn them into to snake burgers! ::)

Try using W-40 on the water hose and any lines to the bus.  Believe Jack, told me this.  It works....

We make our own ant killer from the formula below. I got this from a camper website named Wolf but I can't remember the address to give him credit. This stuff works well anywhere & is harmless to kids & animals.

TOM

Wolf's Ant Killer

1 teaspoon of boric acid powder (any pharmacy)

ΒΌ cup of sugar (or use confectioner's sugar, brown sugar, honey, molasses or other ant food)

2 cups of hot water (plus or minus)

I make small trays using aluminum foil to hold the mixture.

If the ants aren't gone in a day or two, add more boric acid.  If they're dying at the source, add less powder. Works great!

Yup, the snake is pretty dead there. I shot it with my kind of hopped up pellet gun.

We didn't get to cook it, our next door neighbor runs the local Taco Truck that sells to area worksites... you know, a gut wagon.

He's the one who is holding it, and he took it back to the truck with him. I kind of figure the next morning there was a new flavor of Chalupa on the menu.
