Can Mobil 1 synthetic be used in place of esther oil ?  I am working on an MC 9, factory system, that was converted to 134 about 10 years ago and am recharging, purging, cleaning, flushing.  It has worked great and I wouldn't trade for anything.

Hi BC Bus,

No... Because it is a very different viscosity then M1.

The poly Ester oil is designed to mix and atomize with R-134A as well as lubricate the compressor.

Go to your local Appliance parts house and spend the $65 on the poly ester. It will save you lots of headaches.

Good Luck

Thanks Nick for the info.  Do you know what the capacity is for the 3 cyl compressor ?
