I've got my 'new' tires on and I'm about ready to go!   I'm 'bumping' this information up for those interested in a laid-back long weekend!   Most will arrive on the 28th.   Think of Gene's rally as 'Palmetto Cove East' if you will.   ;)
The KOA campground is just a minute off I-95 near Fayetteville, NC.  Easy in and out for large vehicles.  Mostly pull throughs for buses.  Lots of trees, but they got cablevision...
I'll be happy to send anyone additional info on the rally.   Just email me at <njt5047@yahoo.com>
Last year there was food out the wazoo...I'm going hungry!
If making reservations, don't make them 'online'...call the KOA number and let them know that you want to camp with the 'busnuts'...they'll understand.   ;)
This campground has bath facilities so any sort of camping from  tents to bus-mansions is cool.  Very nice CG.   Got a pool too!   :D
For those that have not seen them yet, Gary  ( http://community.webshots.com/user/converter101 )  has a ton of pix up for the April SE (Palmetto Cove) rally.   Gary does a tremendous job of posting pictures on the net.   Gary is an asset to us bus'n nuts!
I made the trip, but in a car.   The turnout was great!
Hope to see y'all soon! JR and Terri   8)

JR we'll be in Myrtle Beach that week. How far is that from the rally?

Ace

Hello Ace!   You're looking at about 125 miles.  You could do it with less miles, but it'll take longer picking your way through the pigpaths.   Especially with the bikers those weekends.  Actually, most of the bikers will have left or be leaving.
A good bit of the trip will be on I-95. 95 moves right along (about 80?)!   You'll follow 501 back to Dillon and I-95 and go North on I-95.  That's it.    Very easy ride!  CG is at SC exit 61
You and Susan gonna have the bus in Myrtle Beach?  That would be nice!
If you're doing the motorcycle thingy, be careful with the local City of Myrtle Beach gendarme.  Myrtle Beach proper has passed some new regs that go beyond the state laws regarding helmets and protective wear.  A lot of the bikers are going to NC this year...and a good many will be in Cherry Grove, North Myrtle, Garden City and Murrells Inlet and north.
What all this amounts too is that Myrtle Beach is tired of the biker dudes. It's a little more complex than that, but I'll share with you in person.
Hope y'all make it!   If you don't have the bus, Fayetteville is only 14 miles South...there are tons of motels on I-95.
Tell Susan to bring her fiddle!   Didn't you pick up your mando again?  Bring that too!  Oh...bring some kettle corn too!   ;)  I love popcorn.....as much as Precious Pup loved dog bones!
Otherwise, we could have a 'bass-band'....not too good!  :o
We'll be arriving on Thursday PM (5 or 6?).   Leaving on Sunday.

JR,

Better make that NC exit 61. Folks could wind up lost somewhere in SC about 61 miles north of Georgia!

Since when did someone slow down traffic on I-95 to just 80 MPH?

See ya'll in Wade!

JR were discussing maybe coming in to see ya for the day if not longer. Like I said, it's still in the discussion stage about hitting Charlotte Motor Speedway or not!

Ace

Hi Ace, hope to see y'all!    What going on at CMS that weekend?  Or are you planning on doing the week before?  The week up to the 24th is filled with fun...after the 600, not so much to do unless you like to watch test track days (you won't).  Nothing happening at the dragstrip either?   Not until the Super Chevy Show.  That's a happening weekend for any car buffs!

The week of the Coca Cola 600 is for people that don't mind getting in line.  All around the speedway is one giant cluster.

See y'all, JR

Thanks to JR and Darrell they have covered the details.  Have been out of town this week - Thanks fellows -- Y'all do good!!
For any one interested in participating or just looking come on down and join us.  We will enjoy some good eating, fellowship, talking buses and what ever.
U can camp in almost any rig if U don't have a coach.  There are sites for S&S units, tents, cabins and 2 new lodges.  Should U want to camp call the campground directly and make your reservation and then please email me (see JR's post above) as to your plans (It helps in the planning of the meals).
We will have the Club House all weekend for our use.  Some of us will be arriving on Thursday - Feel free to join us.
It looks promising that we will have a number of wannabes, dreamers and lookers with us and maybe even a coach or 2 for sale.

Looking forward to see all,
Gene
