A friend of mine has a set of Silver Eagle emblems (left & right) and would like to know how much they are worth. They look in good shape except for being faded. These would belong on the sides of the bus.

Jim -

They're worth whatever somebody's willing to pay for them. . .

Put them up on eBay at $100 for the pair opening and see what they end up going for.

They aren't worth much, because the potential market is small, and most of the folks who would want birdies already have them.

Put 'em on eBay, that will tell you what someone is willing to pay. I'd advocate a long listing time & a through description to increase the exposure.

The main problem will be the shipping charges.

You may find a buyer who simply wants them for wall art.

FWIW, I saw 2 NOS (still in the box) rear center clearance light lenses for a PD4501 sell for over $150 EACH! They were bought by someone who collects things bus related even tho he has no bus.

So, you never know who is interested until you list it.
All you need is 2 bidders with deep pockets that can't live without it.  ;D

The eagles I have seen in the past have gone as high as $1000 ...but they were mint and included the tails ...most are going for 250-500 for a good pair with tails ....do you have the tails ?? Ebay would be a great place to start ....or someone from the eagle site who visits here will spread the word for you ...I for one would like to see them first

JimG

They are in good shape but do not include the tails. Jim G.

Dreamscape

Jim, I sent you a PM, but if they don't have the tails I must withdraw my interest.

i'm with Dreamscape.  if you can't get a little tail, it's not worth the money.  if it is good tail, then it's worth the money.  no tail is just blowin in the wind, not worth the time and just plain sucks.

i'm not sure i'm interested either if there's no tail involved.

So what does the emblem look like?

And why is the tail so important?

Sorry for my ignorance. ;D :D ;D

When I had my 01 Eagle it had the eagles on each side and the guy that bought the bus thought at the time that they were worth as much as the bus! LOL
