Left this morning for Tropical Palms RV Resort and I have to admit, this is one fine place and the people are very friendly!
3 nuts here and we are having a blast! Tonight we go to Arabian Nights for dinner and tomorrow we race the go karts. Men against women! Then the car show!
Not sure about the economy but this place is large and very full! Lots of nice rigs here already and even some newer and older Prevost along with a couple of wanderlodges! The pool is jumping and very "site friendly" if you know what I mean!
Ahh it feels so good to be away from homwe and work!

Van no autographs here! ;)
Let me say that Araian Nights was just AWESOME, simply put! Each of us (6) had dinner and dessert twice. Each of us had a second FREE dinner and the food was to die for. The ice cream dessert was freozen cold and not mushy when it came! The show and story behind the show was the most entertaining show I have seen in a long long time! I would go back again and again. Oh yea, the dinner I had was sirloin steak medium well (cooked just right) with mashed potatos and steamed veggies. Did I mention all the beer you can drink! Walked it all off at old town!
Tomorrow should be a lot of fun!

Ok were back home and I thought getting away was supposed to be relaxing! I'm pooped! Don't know if it was the food, the beer, or all the walking, or maybe the gawking at the custom cars or maybe it was the go-karts. Yea that was it! The karts! We ran those karts to death on the high banked track with a drop off of about 75 feet down at about a 48 degree angle! Bumping and scraping the other nuts made it a lot of fun, not to mention the trash mouthing that went on while waiting in line AND on the track!

The weather for two day was just great! The cookout/s were even better! The trip home started out a little rough as we were awakened by crashing thunder and rain but by the time we left which was after a huge hot breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, toasted bagels, pan cakes, bacon, orange juice, and hot coffee, it had cleared up and the sun was shining once again!

Ahh, all that and now were back home! Ready for another week of rest and relaxation! Wait, I mean work and stress!

Can't wait until next month when were off to Salt Springs and the Elite Resorts campground with the same group of nuts (and Susan's family)! After that, talks are in the works for a trip to Myrtle Beach sometime in May to the Ocean Lakes RV Resort.

Glad the bus is running good and we can finally use it at least once a month!

See ya on the road! :)

Ace...my old boss man said he was forced to go to 'Medival Times' in Myrtle Beach a few years back...said it was the last place in the world he would have picked to go too...had a BLAST!   He says to go there, it is really good!

Thanks Jack for the heads up! I'll tell you, it was the last place I would have chosen as well but to be honest, if anyone was ever to visit and I needed a place to take them, that would be my first choice! I had so much fun, not to mention the food was just, I mean, I couldn't have grilled out myself and had it any better, it was that good!

When we go to Myrtle Beach, I'll be sure to look up Medieval Times because I have heard it's very similar to Arabian Nights!

Oh yea, if anyone ever gets to Florida and is near Kissimmee FL. be sure to check out Arabian Nights, just down the road from Old Town which is walking distance from the Tropical Palms RV resort. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Large enough for our big rigs with full 50 amp hook-ups, cable, and most have hard surface where some have just grass. (your choice) They have an on site store, a large swimming pool with a weekend DJ, a kids pool, various showers thru-out along with laundry rooms. Plenty of dumpsters and a few nice picnic areas not to mention a nice wood deck surrounding a small lake and creek stocked with gators (for your viewing pleasure)!

Plenty of restaurants, indoor flea market, and trinket shops all within walking distance and there is a LARGE Harley shop for the guys!

Ed, thanks for the information! I received an email earlier today with the same info from another busnut and I forwarded it to Susan at her work so she could see what was going on and hopefully in the near future we can make some solid plans on dates etc.
Hoping maybe we can find some other busnuts to travel the highway with but if not, it's not the end of the world! We've done it before and can do it again!

Just looking forward to the next time using the bus! It's so much fun now that the confidence has returned!  ;)

Ace..

Be careful during Bike week within the city of Myrtle Beach. They don't like and don't want bikes, bikers, retirees, anyone who is spending more than a week, anyone who is spending less than $1000 per day.

For the last few years, or possibly a decade, Myrtle Beach has made it a point to try to get rid of anything that doesn't fit in with their idea of "Progress".

By the way, there will be NO vendors or events within the city limits not only during Bike Week, but anytime.

http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/

As another aside, Only Lakewood Campground is Bike Friendly. The rst, as far as I know won't let you ride your bike into the campground. It must be parked outside the gates.

Bike Week will go on as usual with the exception of the jerks that run the city of Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach Harley is just outside of city limits, all of the normal vendors will be there as usual.
SSB (Suck,Bang,Blow) will have all of its going ons, both locations. The beaver bar next to SSB will probably have their new site open ( right down the road) called County Line.

All of the vendors will be at Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet.

City of Myrtle Beach has passed a noise ordiance and a helmet law, but not a lot goes on there anyways except rooms so stay in North Myrtle Beach they are asking bikers to come. They ain't got no part of the city.

The campground rules about bikes has been that way forever. Yes at ocean lakes and others you have a special area ( within the main gates) to park I never did like it either.

Don't let the city deter you come on down or up whatever and enjoy, I'll be on my bike
adding to the noise and traffic

Uncle Ned thanks for the invite! When and where is the rally? Is this the same rally I got un-invited to last year after Susan and I made plans on attending? If so, your the second one to ask us back!

Still waiting on parts to arrive so I can finish the bike, so at this point I'm not even sure I am taking it to Myrtle Beach.

I was hoping to take it with me to the forest in Salt Springs next week but we'll see how that goes!
