A Little 10-year-old girl was walking home, alone,
from school one day, when a big man on a black motorcycle pulls up
beside her. After following along for a while, turns to her and asks,
"Hey there little girl, do you want to go for a ride?"

"NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking.
The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks,

"Hey little girl, I will give you $10 if you hop on the back."

"NO!" says the little girl as she hurries down the street.

The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says,
"Okay kid, my last offer! I'll give you 20 Bucks" and "
a Big Bag of Candy if you will just hop on the back of my bike and we
will go for a ride."

Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and Screams Out...

"Look Dad" "You're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley

"YOU RIDE IT!"

Some pretty awesome bikes Van!!! Whether working on busses or bikes. You just don't know how much blood is shed to do them until you've done it. Very impressive indeed. Later

I guess I need to change my signature from Buses, Bluegrass and Babes to include Bikes and not necessarily in that order either!  :D

Ednj, You have said it as well as can be.  American iron , be it a John Deere johnny popper or a DD two stroker or a oily Harley or and Indian or whatever works for Me.  I am ashamed to admit while stationed in Okinawa in the early 60's, read 1961 I got used to a pushbutton starter.  At a max speed of 25K a wheezing 125cc was okay!  I found a Jap copy of a WLA and rode it for a very long time.  Enough of the old man stuff.  John

It always amazes me that bikers feel the need to defend their choice by putting down other bikes. Or claiming that their choice is the best/only choice for a "Real Biker"
HO HUM... I've heard it all before.... ::)

My choice (triumph) was made on the fact that the bike fit my needs and riding style. And it was pleasing to my eyes. I like my choice otherwise I would not have bought it. Just like the bus, car, truck, etc that I chose to buy. I appreciate ALL kinds of vehicles for their design, usefulness, etc even if it is not the one I would choose for myself. I don't need to know why you chose the bike you did, but do YOU know the reasons, or did your choice come from trying to please someone else?

I don't think anyone is knocking a bike choice here. It's just been a long standing joke for eons back and forth between HD and everyone else. I've ridden beside many makes and from time to time they all need fixed or in a Harley's case, another quart  ;) ;). What I don't care for is the RUBS that just write a check and think they are bikers. I don't care what you ride as long as I am not having to work on it so we can continue on down the road. That sucks. Later

cody

I've had and enjoyed them all over the years, from a 1946 indian scout, 1949 villiers/james, 1956 arial square 4, I think that was the year, don't remember lol, 1964 triumph, 1965 honda dream, 1968 sporty, 1973 bsa, 1975 norton, 1987 goldwing and now a 1997 1200 superglide, doesn't matter, they all got good points and they all got bad points, what does matter is that you enjoy them.

PP

My fave was a '58 BSA Road Rocket. Sure do miss that old hunk of iron, but I married the only woman that would ride shotgun on it LOL (Is it coincidence that she's English too?) ;D ;D
Nice bikes guys. Really liked that pitbike Van
Great pictures from all, Will

Hey cody, my 2nd bike was a Honda Dream. Black with chrome fenders! That was a sweet bike back in the day.
As for my new toy? Although its just a 750, I have already been offer 4500 for it. Heck I've only ridden it twice to a neighbors house and his neighbor which is a cop wants it bad!
Took the struts off and put shocks on it did nothing for it or me. Need to figure out how to keep it as low as it was but with cushion! Trying to stay away from a lowering kit if possible!

Ya'll have some nice bussin bikes! Glad to see them coming out of the bays! LOL
