Now and then I see a bus running along or parked and kind of wonder if it might belong to anyone here. I've thought of this off and on for several years but I know it must have come up before. Has anyone ever made a window decal or anything else to identify us as MAK forum community members? Sort of like the FMCA plates?

I'd probably put one in my windshield if there were such a beast. That way if you ever happened to be in my driveway you'd know that it was me!

Not sure about Mak stuff but at one time I@N at BNO had some really nice T-shirts which I still wear proudly!
Hmm, now that I think about it, maybe I could acquire a couple more!
Thanks for the reminder! :)

We're really easy to spot anyway, if you've seen the evolutionary chart, we're the third from the left lol.

Hi Dave,

YES.. There is.

Mike needs to get these back up on the site for sale. Or something newer/simular.

I belong to a group called "Sailboatownwers.com" .
The owner of that site announced a contest in which we designed a 'burgee' ...which means flag, that we could fly on our boats, therefore identifying us to others on the boards.  Neat deal!
You better believe I have one!
When I see conversions on the road I always ask on the CB if they are MAK or BNO members!

You can get Xerox brand or some other brand color inkjet paper at staples or office supply companies for a few bucks. Then simply print out "MAK Publishing/BB Member". Of course, something designed and approved by Mike himself would be nice.

I don't have a bus (yet), and I'm sure no busnut would be going around looking at every Acura in the parking lot, so I won't bother.   :-[

Is the phone number on the plate still a working number for the site ? I wouldn't want to advertise a phone number if it was changed and give to another subscriber.

Yeah, I knew about those but but wondered more on maybe a catchy window decal.
Imo those license plate things are interesting but were more for advertising though maybe not for group identification.
I was thinking of something that everyone would know, like a Good Sam or AAA sticker maybe? Maybe someone who is artistic could come up with a decal. Maybe an oval sticker similar is size and shape as the others that just has the bold letters MAK in black or other colors? Maybe make another one that says BNO?

Like I said, I'd buy one.

Next we need a secret handshake.....er... horn honk.  ;)

I'm not so interested in paying to advertise for Mike.

Something like FMCA or an Escapee decal/plate.  Something that says the owner of this bus is a bus nut. =)

It's not paying to advertise for Mike, it really has nothing to do with that, it's seeing someone who is from this forum when you pass them. There are tons of FMCA members and others bus nuts out there but that doesn't meant that they are us. The point was to recognize each other here and maybe BNO as well. I don't usually visit BNO much anymore but they are still a valid group of bus nuts whose membership crosses over into here greatly.  (I personally dislike the term busnut)

There are lot's of folks who are not affiliated with our group either by choice or not knowing of it's existence but when I see a bus I wonder if it might be one of you guys!  I saw a beautiful red Eagle the other day and wondered if it might be someone here. If I had seen something like a decal I might have gone over to chat but I'm not the type to just walk up to people.

I like Nicks idea so far except for maybe not having the url included.

It is a simple deal for the Eagles club most of us have a card in the window telling who we are and were we live and even has our email on it.I am with Matt about paying for a decal or plate for what good it would be.FWIW in the years I have been bus'n I have seen 5 of his plates on buses.

good luck
