Recently I saw a bus nuts web site that had a diagram of ramps he built with 2x12s with 1 1/2 spacers between the 2x12s and all threads through at about 5 places. Easy to make without too much cost , but very sturdy. Does anyone know what website this is on ? Thanks for your help, Marc

Railroad ties, railroad ties........ They are designed for the weight and can be modified to make a ramp. Had mine for 8 years and would get under the bus anytime. I also have smaller ties for cribbing should I have somekind of massive failure. Unless you have a pit, I say you can never have enough cribbing to hold up the frame. Safety first.  We used 2 ties layed side by side, used all thread and mallable washers and bolts. Nice and heavy but worth the effort.

Good luck!

We made some on the same idea, but out of 2 x 8 material. This gives up a lift of 7 1/2 inches, or a bit less if you are picking up only one of the duals.

I put a drawing of them into the files section of the Yahoo GMC busnuts and MCI busnuts boards. The materials weren't bad and I always am safe when using them. They're not too heavy, either.

Paul, the AVG Internet Security suite on my computer does not like your incredibus site, the real time analysis having blocked me from going beyond your home page.
