Does anyone have any experience with the fit of Fiber caps from R&M? I purchased fromt and rear caps for my 102-A3 and I am suprized at the lack of fit, as in the shape of the front along the wind shield. The cap does not seem to follow the shape of the windshield and the frame just to the sides of the windshield. Am I doing something wrong or is it common to have to do a great deal of work to get these caps to fit properly?

Sorry I can't answer the question on your caps, but can I add my experience with a fiberglass breastplate I bought from them. You have to do a lot of cut, fit, trim to get to work right.

Wish I was more help. Others will chime in I'm sure.

Have you called Richard and asked him some questions?

On my 5C on the corners it took a lot more caulk then I thought it should. NOt off by an inch but not a tight fit either. Probobly 1/4 inch off.  Jim

I used the caps from R&M. The first time I tried to install the rear cap it did not look like it fit very well in the corners, in my infinite wisdom I thought I was smarter than R&M and tried it my way well once I came to my senses I followed the instructions and video and the cap ended up fitting and looking good.

You also have to be carefull to get the proper cap IE: roof raise or not?? these caps are made for custom fits as well as stock shapes.>>>Dan (I also had a problem with the breast plate for an 06)

I have a R&M  cap and had the same trouble with fit that you are having, I finally cut it along the sides glued it in place and then refiberglassed it. I spoke with R&M about this and they commented about how each coach is not built exactly the same and there sometimes is a fitting issue. That said they have been extremely good to deal with. And I know others that the cap fit perfect, it just depends on the Coach

Good Luck

The fit on mine is forced, does not match the windshield, a good candidate for lots of epoxy.  The losers that did the work cracked the front cap, used some bondo to fake the fit.

Guess it gives me an opportunity to get good at West system epoxy.  I'm not all that impressed with the product used on my bus.  Am actually considering redoing the cap, maybe an Eagle looking one.  Muahahah

Just my humble opinion.
