This past week, starter prices around here:

Freightliner Dealership, with a trade, a rebuilt Delco 42MT for $199.

Fort Garry Industries, brand new, no trade, Leece Neville 42MT for $226.

You have more options if you have your own replacement parts stashed under the bed!

Those prices actually are lower than I expected.  The starter for my 86 Toyota pickup is about that much for a quality rebuilt one and it just cranks a little 4 cylinder low compression gasonline engine.
