We took a 5,000 mile north/south vacation last year in a pick-up camper (2 weeks) and had a wonderful time. We went through Yuma and spent the night. Heading back North to Reno, we passed through Quartzsite and could not believe all the RV's that were there. I had never heard of it and it just did not make any sense to me at all, what caused all those rock hounds to be in one place at one time. I thought maybe someone had discovered Gold or something.

Over the last 6 months or so I have come to figure out a little more about the Quartzsite area and the lure of the hundreds or is it thousands of people that come there. I have no doubt we will probably spend a large part of our first winter in Quartzsite somewhere after we retire. Unfortunately we just took over a small casino in the TA truckstop in Mill City Nevada and I will be very busy for the next month or so.

Look forward to meeting up with many on the board though in the not too distant future.

Bob, have you ever heard of the Gypsy Journal?  It is a bi-monthly paper put out by Nick and Terry Russell who own an MCI 8 and travel all over the country and tell about their adventures and mis-adventures along the way. :) Well worth subscribing to in my opinion as they go to a lot of interesting places off of the beaten track and cover a lot of topics of interest to rvers. Also has a daily blog so people can keep up with their travels.  Might give you some ideas for your travels. ;D
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.
