My wife finished installing these panels yesterday, it was her idea and I let her run with it! ;D Her choices of flooring, countertop and backsplash sure did come out good as it all blends in so well with the carpet in the bedroom!

Very nice.  It goes very well with the countertops and cabinets.

I'm planning to use those same panels on part of my ceiling. I bought the 4x2 panels in white, and then  bought some
rustoleum plastic primer and a hammered copper paint. I painted one to see how it looks. It came out with some blotches and
orange peel in a few areas, which in my opinion just adds to the look of old pressed metal. Hoping to get that installed this spring.

Looks good!! I saw a picture of a bus somewhere that had those on the ceiling also. It was done to look like one of the classic rail coaches in the old west. Just food for thought!!!

There a PVC product and available at Lowes an Home Depot. Bruce knee used them in part of his salon ceiling maybe he'll post some pictures.

We bought them at HD along with some j molding and i.s. corner. Of course you have to buy the right glue for plastic, we used PL brand adhesive. I'll say one thing, they aint cheap, about 18 bucks per panel. Gotta keep the boss happy somehow ;D When she's happy, I'm Very Happy!

but I would be very eager to see pictures of bruce knees ceiling as I've thought that it would make a very good looking project and i haven't seen anyone do it in a bus, the backsplash looks great, it would be nice to see how other people have used it too.  I've looked at those panels several times and I think they would look great, they are available in several finishes and kinds of materials, libby liked the brass or copper but the white would look good on a ceiling too.

My wife did the same back splash last year.

I do like the looks of the pressed metal tiles for a backsplash, really makes a nice kitchen.  I'm wondering about other applications to it also, has anyone used them in a shower stall for example?

Peabody

I agree they aren't cheap but they are beautiful.I used them too but I worried about them  melting so I put tin behind my stove.  Only goes to show us bus nuts  have good taste. Peabody

OK, I removed several post and edited several others to remove disparaging words and "button pushing" phrases.  Lets try to be nice and keep the thread on topic.  Thanks, Jack

wingnut

That looks really nice.  How did you get the wall flat?  How does one install a backsplash on a curved bus wall?
