First snow this year

Southeast PA -  Heavy rain, mixed with some flurries, but no accumulation.  Don't bet on the Phils finishing the game tonight.


Update:   Phils game for tonight (Tues) HAS been cancelled.

yes it is!  ps....out of curiosity, ive always wondered....how do mc9's handle in heavy rain and snow?

if it makes any difference, we have all new tires on the drive axle which resemble snow tires....the tread is i would say roughly 5"-6" tall

10" of snow shouldn't ever be a problem for a 9 except on mountains and ice.
Now, stopping a 40,000lb monster in snow/ice is another story....
If ya don't have to, don't risk it!

Wow!!! Snow! It isn't even Halloween yet.  Glad SW Oregon is so nice.  Thirty five miles from the Pacific.  Got down to mid-low 40's last night, a bit chilly this AM, predicted high hi 60's, lo 70's. Sunny, 20-40% white clouds, blue skys, no smog, infinite visability.   Enough.  HB of CJ

Stopping a MCI 9 in snow, if it is like a DL3 (I would assume that it is), is no problem...IF...IF...you are going the right speed...SLOW. Anyways we have done a significant amount of winter snow driving. The big statement is go as slow as necessary. But to answer your question. Our bus doesn't stop well in snow. We had an accident occur in our lane (the left passing lane), not very far in front. We were barely able to stop and merge into the right lane. The road was snow packed and very icy. (Of course we stopped to help...called 911...etc.) Anyways it doesn't stop really fast. We did also go down Rabbit ears, outside of Steamboat Springs CO, while the road was snowpacked and it was still snowing hard. It took a really long time to reach the bottom. We were crawling down if first gear!!! It worked and we were fine, and didn't have to use the brakes.

So the bottom line is manage your speed when on snow (anytime of course). Gear down go slow and try not to use your brakes.

That is just my style. The Pros on the board might have better advice.

The F3500 I have in the shop has traction control and ABS on it, I suppose that would mean it would do better in snow, but I probably would take it just as easy as if it didn't.  But still...."bus donuts?", that would be cool - if intentional.

since the game was cancelled already, i've requested all the snow for northern ohio be sent further East.  what's a few more inches for you rather than me?  Joisey can have it.
