For anyone that has a lead on where I can purchase an EMPTY 14 or 16 foot concession trailer. Don't need or want the cooking equipment. Looking for something clean around 4 or 5K dollars or less is even better! One axle is ok but two preferred.
Rear ramp door also preferred but not a must. Anything close to Florida is a plus!
ASAP

Thanks

Ace -

I'm in the process right now of ordering a new PACE-brand trailer for work.  7x14, dropped two-axle, ramp door with a V-nose, Journey model.  Looks like it will be about $3800 - 4200, delivered, depending on what other options I add to it.

I'm getting the V-nose for two reasons - better fuel economy (a moot point, actually), and I can build a workbench across the inside of the V.  Under the bench, I'm going to put one of those little Honda 2K gensets, so I'll have power at a job site.  Ordering it with a roof vent too - which I'll change to a Fantastic fan powered by a small solar panel.  I also ordered the 7' width so that down the road I can haul a golf cart inside behind the coach!  (That, or perhaps a Smart Car or a Mini. . . LOL)

One thing to consider - height.  Standard is six feet interior - you might want to go to 6'6" or 7' so you're not stooping over all day!

Have done a lot of research - cargo trailers can drive you nuts!  Like finding the right bus, so to speak.  Pace was started by a guy who was a big-wig at Wells Cargo.  Haulmark's been around forever, and seems to be the preferred choice for the NASCAR set - with prices that match!  Other, regional brands exist, too, but these are the big three.

All of them will customize any of their models to suit your needs, and I found the modification/customizing costs surprisingly inexpensive when done during production.

I use to do work for the guy, repaired a lot of campers, 5'ers, and modified a lot of utility trailers.. a concession window is not hard to do.

Good Luck.

Len and Steve,

I have done searches that turned up items on Craig's list across the country from me.  I have never been able to get a bid registered.  Very frustrating and I missed some sweetheart deals.  The Craig's list that I turned up did not have a location or other data except the "Item" number.

I would be surprised if I am the only one experiencing difficulty.

Thanks,

John

Tanks Guys! The craigslist items listed here have already been seen while doing my search. On some of the CL are already gone, some too small for my needs and some don't bother to return a reply so it leaves you not knowing what is up!

I'll keep searching and hopefully I'll find something that I can use and afford! The nearest one so far that interest me is in Burlington NC! Yuck, it's about 11 hours away!

Craigslist is not an auction so there is no bidding.  It is simply an online classifieds service.

you will find varying levels of response from sellers on Craigslist.  Some will put a phone number and actually answer the phone while many will just put their email address and then never answer their email.  A lot of folks won't delete their ad when an item sells, but they won't tell you the item sold either.  They just never respond.

Ace, I would try to get one with torsion bar suspension as opposed to srpings, therefore eliminating rusting issues for the springs.  Especially if you take it near the coast down there.

Ok we've thought this out a little deeper and as we wait for a quote from one the links Gerald was kind enough to post, I wanted to say thanks for the help! We have decided we only need a 12 footer, 1 serving window that is 3x6 and a regular walk thru door with a ramp rear door! Hopefully going down in length will get it close to my budget!

Ace, I know that before I bought my 24 foot enclosed I shopped around used ones and everyone wanted within a thousand of what I bought a new one for. every now and then a good deal on a used one comes around but everyone seems to think they are gold even when old and beat. I had to break down and just buy a new one as by the time I fixed up a used one I would be at the cost of new.

Ace,

I eventually gave up and went new also.  I never looked into salvage trailers though.
