Hi Friends!
HGTV's hit series Tiny House Hunters is now casting for its third season. We are looking for people who are interested in transitioning from living in a traditional sized home to one that is 500 sq ft or less which includes converted busses!
Our series tells the stories of people going tiny and showcases potential homes that fit their budget and desired amenities. Have you been looking for the perfect bus conversion for full time living? Hoping to hit the open road and see America? If so, we would love to talk to you!
Requirements:
Must be purchasing and moving into the bus by spring 2016
Must be purchasing a bus that has already been converted. We are NOT looking for people who are converting their own bus.
If this sounds like you, please contact me at nicki_marshall@pietown.tv

I think you've come to the wrong place.
Nicki, most bus people dont buy a completed bus to live in, they buy a bus and convert it into what they want to live in, or camp in...
Hi Friends!
We reach out in all avenues trying to find real people who are interested in bus conversions. You never know who will come across the post! This is the way we find amazing people for reality television and we were encouraged to post here by the awesome people who work for Bus Conversions Magazine. :) Perhaps there is someone out there who can't wait to move into a converted bus without having to lift a tool!
Cheers!
Nicki, Casting Producer
Tiny House Hunters on HGTV
PS: If anyone knows of someone moving into a tiny house that is not a bus, that's great too! Pass along my email. ;)
Went to an open house (a small gathering....pun intended) for a firm building tiny homes. The "showhome" was an actual build for a customer that was waiting for completion. Do not know the contact of the home owner but maybe the contractor can let you know. Here is a story of them in a local newspaper. No, no affiliation with them, just went looking for bus ideas.

I've corresponded w/ Nicki,
I KNOW we have lots of folk who purchase converted buses - to move into & live in / travel in fulltime 'cause I correspond w/ every new member & I've heard this numerous times from a large number of new members to the forum. I'm just hoping we get someone who qualifies / meets the criteria because it would be exciting to watch one of our own on TV!! I could live vicariously through their experience. I'd be vicariously famous! ;D
Also, there are a number of similarities between the Tiny Houses on Wheels and and our members' buses. I visited a Tiny House on Wheels website & was very impressed w/some of the Tiny House on Wheels (buses) and their use of space. In fact, at that point I was trying to differentiate between Tiny House on Wheels that was a bus, and a "bus conversion" as we know it.
Hopefully there will be some sharing of ideas in the future as I'm always looking for new bus ideas!
Please don't be shy about contacting Nicki if you think you may qualify. This could be fun. ;D :D ;D
Kind Regards, Phil

Absolutly not true! There have been plenty of folks who have done just that.

Sorry Van , I should have said most bus people I have met so far...
I have never met anyone who bought a turn key ready to go bus without fixing it up some..

how many have you met... :) ??? ;) ;) :) :)
Our bus is converted. And we are living in it. And we now have a newborn living in it with us. I think that's pretty interesting :) but I understand they are looking for a specific dynamic to film and I respect that. Plus, I'm not so sure having a camera in my face at Emma's 2:00AM feedings haha

I've watched a couple of those shows and they are pretty good.
I think most of our buses or at least the ones I have seen have a lot more amenities built into them than the tiny houses, imho.
I would like to see an episode that featured buses for folks to consider buying.

No worries DS :) Agreed, Those that do will make changes to one extent or the other, eventually rolling their sleeves. ;D
We bought ours ready to go. :) And we have lived in it and traveled in it for 12 years. Since we had some money later on we upgraded it some. Now we are ready to sell it and start a new chapter in our life. Maybe whoever buys it will meet the criteria for the show and we will see our bus on tv! I agree with Goldgiter, i think that our buses are a better all around setup than most of the tiny houses unless you are going to just set one up somewhere and never move it.
Hi All, I bought my first bus pro converted, an MCI5A, then updated and added furniture, appliances, flooring and window covering, besides mechanical fixes, I would have done the same with the 102C3 if we could have found a decent bus conversion, instead of from scratch, lvmci...

Iv been to Arcadia a few years as a spectator, hung out with bus people at concerts and events, talked with a lot of people on this forum, so actually quite a few..
well there you go.
My experience most people buy a coach that is ready to go, just not decorated the way they want. In fact the level of build that you have undertaken is probably the smallest percentage of BusNuts endeavoring to hit the road...
People are all different Dennis bought a Eagle converted and ripped everything out to do it their way

People are all different
That is as true as it gets !
I have watched a few of the tiny home episodes and the wife and I both come back to the bang for the buck that some of the people get. We think a store bought unit would be cheaper and with better fit and finish in ones we watched. Some to tall to be moved without special permits. I think it is more about skirting building permits than a actual movable living space.

I too got the impression that some of the tiny house builders were more interested in avoiding rules & codes.
I have seen some that are very astounding especially since they did it without looking at anything other than the houses they had lived in, never even seen the inside of a camper.
I've often wondered how many of them are aware of the weight of their tiny house.
I'm glad they are moving forward with their interest. ;D
Would be great to get their ideas on a bus conversion, they definitely know how to think outside the box.
It will not be long before town and cities start cracking down on these tiny house and start making new building codes to keep them out. On the show it looks like build a unit and just tow it to mom and dads house in just stick it in the back yard. What about a water supply, sewage and power. These are additional costs that are not shown on tv. Many of them are sure to be over weight on some of the flat bed trailers plus you need a heavy duty truck just to pull them. Many of these reality shows are just a bunch of crap like the family in Alaska, always broke. You mean that they are not being compensated somehow for doing the show.
The municipalities are already cracking down on them and there are laws and codes already in place to prevent people from being able to live in them legally!

I'll bite. Why not.
