hello from tyler tx
just a note, got home today sat . from stay in hospital for prostatectomy.
to you that are going thru or already gone thru this procedure. maybe some of you have tips on  recovery. i had the open surgery and will slow
me and the bus down for a while.  thanks j.t.

I am not even sure what that is, but it sounds like a pain in the a$$!! I hope all goes well in your healing and you are back bussing soon!

J.T. well you made it through the tough part, now its just healing, the first week you are pretty tender, the second week food looks good and you are ready to move around, the third week you want to do something but you better not, especially lifting, wait until the doctor says ok, the good thing most of the tenderness and tubes are gone, especially the catheter (why do they always look like a fire hose, i'm for smaller tubing) the 4th week the pain is all gone and you are even grouchy! When you reach the grouchy stage you're ready for the bus.....get back to work! Good luck I hope your PSA tests are all zero!

I went through this in January but had laposcopic surgery and healed up well.   Very little pain except the catheter which was uncomfortable but not painful.   Catheter was removed in ten days and began to get continance back but took about 4 months to get complete.   Don't over do it.   Advice for all men over 50, get your psa checked yearly.   It will help you catch the cancer early and then it is easily taken care of.   I am happly bussing again since April.
