A/c leaks

I have a dometic roof a/c that leaks inside after about 8 hours of running. It is 5 years old and just started doing this. I have 2 other units that are fine. This is the front unit. Could it be freezing up? It still blows cold air. The drain line has same amount of water running as it always has. I'm puzzled. Marc

Hi Marc,

Which model Dometic unit do you have? brisk air, or penguin.

If brisk air,

Have you removed the cover on the top side and cleaned the pan and drain lines?

If not, that is the likely problem. There is drain lines that run from the indoor fan compartment, to the

outdoor condenser/fan compartment to dissipate the extra condensate water. These lines can build up

with dirt and then not allow easy flow to the outside.

This should be done every few years.

If all is clean, look for ice build-up on the indoor coil by looking up through the return air holes above your ceiling cover.

If the unit is short on refrigerant, it could ice-up and create a water leak inside your coach.

Nick, I believe mine is a penguin. I know it is the low profile. I have had the outside cover off and the drain appears to work fine. If the freon is low I will have to put a fitting in. I will check this out. Thanks, Marc
