Does anybody have the current wheel bearing numbers for a GMC4107?  I think the numbers are brand specific to the bearing manufacturer.  We figured we would get the bearings BEFORE taking the wheels apart.
The manual shows two bearings on each wheel.

Bearing houses usually work by just measuring the bearings. Take an old one in and they can sell you the right one. If you go to a dealer you need a part number (usually) and they cost MUCH more.

Be very careful what brand you buy. There is a lot of off shore junk bearings out there, Timkin is a trusted brand. Generally you get what you pay for.

I took mine into NAPA and they were able to match with Timken off the shelve.

The numbers that are etched onto all bearings are not brand specific!  Bearing numbers are universal, and any industrial supplier of bearings can cross the numbers.  But as has already been said, beware of foreign made junk.  Japan, germany and many others do make excellent bearings.  Many of the old trusted american brands are now quite the cheapest junk known to Man and usually overpriced at that.  Let the buyer beware!  John

As others said, a good bearing shop can fix you up.  They should also have the seals.  While it is nice to have the parts ahead of time, there is no substitute for having the parts in hand for the counter guy to match up.   Demand to know where they were manufactured, bearing and seals.  Seals probably cause more failures, bearings and brakes.

Until you pull them and clean them you can not tell if you even need to replace them.  With all the cheep bearings around these days, the OEMs might be better with a bunch of miles on them than new junk.  Be sure to keep the bearings matched up with the race them came from if reusing them. The seals always should be changed and are more likely to be odd than the brearings.

Good luck
