Can a bus be towed,,, if it doesn't want to be  ???

What if the there is no air, so the brakes don't release?  If you can't get in the bus, can you still tow it?

With the right tow truck operater about any thing can be towed.

It is not that hard to pull the drive shaft, or to cage the springs on the parking brakes and let it roll free.  Might be a little tight getting under but a tow truck could lift it up too.

I am not saying that the bus would not be damaged in the long run but it can be done.

I have seen tow trucks drag a truck when it needed to get it where they could get under it safely.

I would definitely be concerned about damage if the scenario was that it was being towed to the impound due to a parking violation.  That being what comes to my mind as the most likely cause of it being towed without the owner being there and without interior access.  From what I've heard, a tow truck operator doing an impound tow without the owner present really doesn't practice much care.

Tow co's can tow anything. They can bring in a $5000 hr crane if they need to.

Anything can be towed without causing damage.
Sometimes easily, sometimes only with great effort & expense.

The tow service is a business that has set itself up to properly tow vehicles. As such, they are responsible for any damage they cause that is a result of an improper tow.

The tow truck has air, so it can air up the bus.
The brakes can be released at the brake can.
The axles or drive shaft can be removed.

Okay Okay,

As you know, this week early, because of "FAY" I moved my bus from St. Pete to my girlfriends at Sun City, Florida.  As the storm moved to Florida's East Coast we went to Key West on Wednesday, leaving the bus in front of her house.  At the end of a little culterstack, in a tight @$# retirement community. :o

When we return Saturday night, there was a "Notice to Tow".  Seem like I had 48 hours to MOVE THAT BUS.  ::) The notice was dated Friday.  :o    Seem they didn't like my FOR SALE sign on the bus.   As least that is what the "Notice to Tow" was all about.

Of course, I discovered Tuesday night, that the bus wasn't moving.  Seems I had a "Do Not Shift" light.  Well, sort of, my Do Not Shift light doesn't work, but I knew the drill.  What the heck,, I'm going to Key West.  Will worry about the bus later.

Today, I found my ECU was flashing a 21 code.  Which is the Throttle Sensor.   Found the spring broke and the Throttle Sensor had come loose.  Corrected this problem, took the bus for a short test ride to make sure everthing was working.
Currently, bus is still parked in front of her house.  FOR SALE sign is down, and bus has been turned around, problem is fixed.  I take the bus back to St. Petersburg in the morning (Monday).
