My Grandfather used to paint his 1960 rambler wagon with a brush and house paint.. Darned thing never rusted after that.

The Kylon was just a joke. I am sanding the other side now. I can only spray one side at a time, not a big enough garage.  Tom

I was gonna say, not only did you spend more on rattle cans than good paint but you're gonna have to do it all over again next year.

I can relate to what you have had to do to prepare the coach for paint. :P

I am finally going to prime one side today and paint it tomorrow. Then turn the bus around and do the other side, then the front.

Isn't this fun! ::)

Rattle cans work, I did my corvair with them.(increased value about 50%)  But there is a cardinal rule that should never be broken. With each color you add. Always use a new broom....Cable

Tom, Can you come help me paint my bus next? ;D

Seriously, that looks awesome and I bet you are very pleased with how it is turning out.

Tom Y

Brian, Yes I have gun and will travel. Now the down side, I think there is about 2500 rivets on my bus. Now there is only 3 with out runs coming off them. More runs than Grandmas nylons. And my wifes not happy with the lite green, to bold. I've had it mixed 3 times now and may be repainting it.  For now I just primed the other side.  Thanks Tom Y

Hi Tom,

Can you describe the process you used on how you did your striping?

I'm thinking of adding a simple design on our Eagle to break up the solid color.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul, I used a fine line tape. Its a plactic tape you can buy different sizes, I used 1/2. You need to remove by pulling back againist itself. I sanded 400 grit under what I painted, but scuffing should work. I just had my green paint changed, if I keep this up I will be buying them dinner. I used release masking tape near the mouldings were a line won't show. You will have a line with any tape but could buff it out I would guess. The fin line is just cleaner.  Hope this helps, if not let me know.  Tom Y

Tom, that sure looks nice. I was looking at your picture and couldn't tell it was an MCI 5. Did you move your radiator into the engine compartmentor was it already there? If so what did you use for a fan drive?
