The new windows I bought at Bontragers are actually going in, I've got one of them already in place and only a couple more screws to put in the clamp ring, then the celebration begins. The only problems I've encountered so far is the windows are an inch too short on the top, the side to side fit is perfect but for the top I'm cutting 1/2 inch strips from a pressure treated 2x4 and putting one on the bottom and one on the top to take up the slack, the flange on the outside has plenty of overlap to cover the hole and seal with the buytle (sp) tape.  I also had to modify the clamp rings cause I couldn't find any that were the exact size.  My bus still had the original bus windows and they didn't open so I was pleased to find some that I could afford, they are made by Hehr and are tinted thermopane sliders with screens, cost was kinda steep at 20 bucks each but they are brand new so thats ok I guess lol. I got 4 of them, 2 for the living room and 2 for the bedroom, it'll be nice to have some air movement, especially after some of the BBQ's we've been to lately lol.  Next project will be figureing out how to modify my kitchen for the new corian countertops we picked up for 35 bucks, that project I think will be easier than figuring out how to put in and hook up the bigfoot levelers, going to Bontragers was like turning me loose in a candy store, I guess I got out of control for a while lol. Between the granite and marble floor tile and the other goodies I got I'm not sure what to tackle next lol, life is good lol. The downturn in the S&S industry has sure been a bonus for surplus sellers like Bontragers, the glut of items on the market caused by the places closing is bringing the prices down on the goodie market, now if only I could afford the fuel lol.  As we were leaving they were unloading a pallet filled with the mechanisms for slideouts, no idea what they were for or how much but that'll be the next trip lol.

In 2000 I went to Penisula they wanted several thousand dollars for windows. On the way back to NY I stopped in Elkhart and bought my window there.  Becuse I was paying the big bucks ($20/$30) I also bought an extra to have spare glass. I ran into same problem no trim rings.  I screwed them on from outside and trimed with wood inside.
I refer to Elkhart as Disneyland for the converter!!!!  Jim

I found out over the years that Stormtite has the only double pane window that will fit a original window frame on a Eagle with out modifications or custom made for the 05 and model 10 but are hard to find at a surplus store

Is sure is disneyland for busnuts lol, I'm not sure how much I saved all together but it was a lot, I was quoted 360 each for the windows by penninsula plus 60 bucks shipping each, along with a crating fee.  I got the hydrolic bigfoot levelers for 65 for all 4 and the controler was another 50, I've seen them priced at between 2K and 4K, I'm not sure what I'll need to hook them in yet tho.  The 92 inch joeybed for my bay was listed on one website for 650 complete, it cost me 60 bucks.  I got a bunch of cases of granite and marble floor tile for 50 bucks, I bet that costs a bunch at lowes lol.  I may even stop and pick up the slide mechanisms for a couple of slideouts, not sure if I'll ever add them but it would be nice to have in case libby found a surge of ambition for me. I know exactly what the corian was worth cause I priced it last year at Menards and for what libby wanted me to do would have run me 800, I got those pieces and more for a total of 35 bucks lol. LIfe is good.

The windows I bought are made by Hehr, it was the only brand they had in stock, the fit is very close to what I wanted.

Cody, careful when you do Bigfoot.  i heard they are mean in the upper.
seriously, Bigfoot refused to put them on my Eagle.  Said there was no support structure.  i did just run into a guy at a show who said he could mount them for me.  New supports and levelers all around.  $6k.  i passed at the moment.  easier to find level ground.

so watch where you plan on putting them.

Tom find you someone else they install the units on the Eagle all the time Doyle on this broad has a new set on his Eagle I have HWH on mine and a guy in Quartzsite will install them for 4 grand (automatic)fwiw Country Coach installed them on the Eagles they converted

They had to re-do one of the rear levelers on Doyle's bus.  Seems his driveshaft took out one of the fittings. They had to re-do the bracket.  Jack

The levelers are quite a ways down on my list, I just wanted to get whatever I could that was cheap, even if it wasn't something I'd use for a while, getting all 4 of them for 65 bucks was too good to pass up even if I have to store them for a while lol.

I have been there three times and loaded up. Some things I used, some I gave away, some I sold and some I still have. I could have thrown away half of the things I bought there and still been way ahead...  many items were a nickle of the dollar.   Jim
