i always thought the prices were the same, but i haven't been to the RV pumps in a few years.  it would surprise me if the cash price for trucks, was cash or credit for RV'rs.

and i didn't know about any weight limit.  we used to go with the winnie we had which was 30k lbs. and i never saw a sign.

i'm not argueing, just clarifying.  all my friends will tell you i do make mistakes and miss things.

Hey Tom fuel is the same cash or credit at the RV pump with the RV card from Flying J and they will cut off at $500.00 if you don't go inside. The law in AZ is not over 2 axles and 26,000# to get the $.08 off but everyone uses the RV pump with no problems

I do not know if this will effect things, but I read that we usually maintain two battle groups in the Persian Gulf, but we now have two extra on the way.  The speculation is that it has something to do with Iran.  Possibly a blockade or prep for attack on nuclear facilities by us or Israel.

Sorry, just re-read the article.  There are three more on the way!

Considering that Iran's big threat to the Western world has been that they will blockade the strait, extra naval presence makes sense.

And of course such news usually does drive up oil prices.  Just as it does when news breaks that some oil line in the back 40 of nowhere is damaged,  some obscure country producing 2% of world oil is having another coup, or an Arab leader has a head cold.   ;)

Well just got home and on the way, I checked the same fuel stop again and like recent days, the fuel prices have dropped once again! Now we're at 4.15! 5 miles or so up the road fuel is still in the 4.20's. Should I or shouldn't I is the question? Planning a trip in about 10 days anyway but with Fay heading in and not sure how strong it will be, it's a toss up! I have about 1/2 tank which is about 100-115 gal. so I can get somewhere IF needed! Was going to fuel up before heading out on local trip but will this storm raise the price or not!

I feel like I'm in a Vegas casino! :)

Friends of mine with buses have already readied themselves just in case this storm turns into something more and have invited us as a caravan to wherever but only time will tell!

If it were me, I'd top off the tank in the next day or so just to have the security cushion of knowing that I don't have to stop for fuel for a while . . . .  8)

If fuel drops another $.25/gal, I'll eat a PB&J for a few days to make up the difference.  ;D

Besides, as soon as you do fill up, you know the prices will really drop & the rest can thank you for that.  ;)
Just think of the service you've done for fellow busnuts!  ;D

I topped off the tank last week and prices dropped by 9 cents at the same station since then.  I only put in around 20 gallons so it wasn't much.  I wanted to be topped off for my trip in 10 days.

We fuel at least 3 times a week and it just ain't coming down like we'd like it too! It's $4.09 at our local fuel stop. Dad got it for $4.04 this AM  @ Flying J in Oak Grove, KY. ;D  BK  ;D

PS Ace if it were me I'd be headed down to fuel right now! From my previous Hurricane Assistance runs experiences, they jump at the chance to start gouging as soon as they can say "the storm has made it hard to get our supply"  FWIW ;D  BK  ;D

When I was at your place almost two years ago now I believe diesel was $2.38 or so at Walmart when I fueled the bus to go home.

While I was traveling this summer the question was often raised - If and when do you think fuel prices will come down? My answer immediately was, I know exactly when prices will drop, the day I get home!

Price @ Flying J when  I left Tampa beginning of May - $4.15

Highest price I've seen on the road - $5.21

Price today @ Flying J - $4.15

Well the local fuel stop got the fuel down to 4.09 a week ago and that is where it stayed! It was exciting to see the price drop sometimes twice in a single day but looks like 4.09 is what I'll end up paying tomorrow when I fill the bus!
Uh well I guess I can count on about 500 bucks for that since I already have a half tank which is about 120 gallons!
OUCH!!!!

Just filled the turbodiesel Mercedes yesterday at $4.199. And this in L.A.  On my recent trip I paid a low of $4.049 in Carson City, Nv.  Still needs to come down to $3.509 for Diesel and under $3 for gasoline.  Good Luck, TomC
