I am having a problem setting up, I am in  a treed area and may not be able to find a satellite, although my signal finder says there are two.
Dish has recently changed there check switch screen. I have checked the system and have continuity to the LNB. The check screen says check connections. I am starting to think I am getting this message becuse I do not have a third LNB.
Could somebody with Dish500 and a 311 receiver and DPP dual LNB run a check switch test and let me know the results?

Jim, one of the many reasons I switched from Dish Network to Direct TV is the level of their cooperation for those of us who move around. Here in Franklin I'm having a problem with trees so last year I called them and put the dish on vacation for the summer and they had no problem.

This year I've had to extend my cable and the view is marginal...haven't really had the drive to play with it.
Had to add almost 100' of coax to my normal 45' and don't know yet what the maximum resistance I can have in my cable is without losing the signal. If anyone knows that figure it would sure help.

I might have to go to a better grade of coax, less loss, to make it work. Hope you can work out your problems.

With dish Pro Plus it is 200 feet max.  that would be the heavier cable RG 6 I belive
