I had a monitored alarm system. An alarm seems to be the lowest priority on the police response list.
Remember, even at a Mensa convention someone is the dumbest person in the room!

One problem with monitored alarm systems, especially in Florida, is that lightning strikes cause a lot of false alarms.  We used to get the same thing with fire and medic alert alarms everytime we had a storm with a lot of lightning. When a storm hits, we so many false alarms, that we were kept busy just responding to false alarms.  Jack

An alarm is good...not going to stop the burglar, but at least the police might show up to write the report.

Do to their competitors, it business practice for company to make an improvement.
Alarm or any good manufacturing company will search the nation's reports to continue to further improve the alarm system to avoid unnecessary false alarms as well serve it purpose.
